Blitzcrank Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
- Blitzcrank is pretty fun and easy to pick up. He is one of the best entry-level support in Riot’s MOBA right now, and he has been sitting pretty high up in the bot lane meta.
- He has a versatile build path that allows him to go for a more AP-oriented build. Blitzcrank has the ability to instantly burst down an enemy carry as soon as he grabs them
- Has the ability to completely turn a teamfight around. His long-range access to the enemy backline allows him to be a good fit for most team compositions. A well-timed hook can instantly win you a skirmish.
Cons:
- Blitzcrank is very mana-hungry with incredibly long cooldowns on his abilities. This is why he can struggle in the laning phase if you are not good at landing your hooks. Every time your hook misses the enemy has a long window of opportunity to counter-engage on you.
- It’s very easy to accidentally grab a tank with his Rocket Grab. So if you do grab the enemy frontline, they will then have easy access to your carries. Grabs can often be a coinflip in the Late Game, and you will be forced to time them right.
- Blitzcrank doesn’t have too many disengage tools at his disposal. So if he or his team gets caught out, there is very little he can do in terms of protecting his carries.
How to play Blitzcrank: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14
Early Game:
- Your Early Game with the team Golem will be to focus on grabbing the enemy ADC every time they are out of position. As soon as you hit level 2, look for early grabs and try to blow a Summoner Spell if you can’t get a kill.
- If the enemy is good at dodging your Q, position in a way that you threaten a grab every time they walk up to CS. This will make them lose a lot of XP and gold early on.
- Ward around the Bot Lane to spot enemy jungle pathing. Blitzcrank doesn’t have many tools to save his ADC if they are ganked. So try having a high vision score and place deep wards.
Mid Game:
- Start roaming and look for plays in other parts of the map. Roam with your jungler so that it’s easier for them to take neutral objectives or threaten a dive on the solo laner.
- Continue to place deep wards and destroy enemy vision with your Sweepers while you are at it. A surprise Blitzcrank grab from a brush with no vision is not something that most players will expect in solo queue.
- Feel free to grab whomever you want during the Mid Game. Most tanks will not have most of their defensive items completed so your team will be able to burst them down instantly.
Late Game:
- Blitzcrank might struggle a bit in the Late Game especially if there are too many tanks in the enemy team. You will have to fish for carries and time your grab perfectly so that you don’t accidentally grab their front line.
- Continue to place your vision and clear enemy vision. The more knowledge you have of enemy positioning the easier will it be to engage.
- Stick with your team and don’t remain isolated. Even though Blitzcrank gets tankier the longer the game goes, he can still be killed easily if the enemy carries are fed.
