Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has a heavy emphasis on survival, forcing players to micromanage their resources while keeping track of their health and hunger. This also affects negative ailments that must be dealt with as soon as possible to avoid detrimental effects.
With that being said, here is a breakdown of your health, hunger and bleeding status effects in Stalker 2 – along with details on how to deal with them to ensure your survival.
How to restore health in Stalker 2

Losing HP can be detrimental to your survival, and you will have to periodically use healing items to restore HP as and when required (especially after taking damage).
The healing items in-game include:
- Bandage
- Food Items
- Medkit
- Army Medkit
- Scientific Medkit
The Bandage and Food Items restore a small portion of your health, but using Medkits will restore a significant portion of your health, but are much rarer in comparison.
How to deal with hunger in Stalker 2
Hunger is one of the major status effects that affects your overall mobility and combat effectiveness during the game’s campaign. Try to keep your hunger at bay by periodically consuming the following food items:
- Bread
- Sausage
- Condensed Milk
- Canned Food
Condensed Milk is the most potent of these items, and is capable of removing hunger entirely when used.
How to deal with bleeding in Stalker 2
Taking damage or being grazed by sharp objects will incur the Bleeding status effect on players, which has multiple stages to it. The longer you leave Bleeding untreated, the worse it gets – slowly chipping away at your health till you die.
The following items can stop bleeding relatively quickly:
- Bandage
- Medkit
- Scientific Medkit
- Army Medkit
Bandages are your best friend here, as they are relatively easy to obtain and completely stop bleeding when used.
