Netease Games’ free to play shooter, Marvel Rivals has finally launched for PC. The game is built on top of Unreal Engine 5 and features a ton of customization in its graphical settings, allowing it to scale down rather well on low end PC hardware.
As such, the game can run surprisingly well on Valve’s Steam Deck, partly thanks to the game’s anti-cheat solution supporting Linux based operating systems right out of the box.
You can find a set of optimized Steam Deck settings for Marvel Rivals below.

Steam Deck specific settings
- Frame Rate Limit: 60; can be capped to 40 if you want a ‘smoother’ experience
- TDP: 15 W
- Battery Drain: 25-20 W; 1-2 hours of gameplay
Expect 30 to 40 frames per second during gameplay (worst case scenario) when using these settings. Marvel Rivals is optimized rather well for the Deck, and is entirely playable – just not at 60 FPS.
You can also enable FSR 3 Frame Generation if you wish to boost your FPS – at the cost of additional latency and some ghosting.
