Charms are equipment items that grant various effects when you meet certain conditions in Path of Exile 2. It’s one of the new systems that has been introduced with the sequel and can be a bit complicated to grasp for those who are just starting out.
While Charms might seem similar to the Utility Flask system from PoE 1 there is way more to the feature now, and will be a core part of min-maxing your character for the end game.
So if you are looking to learn more about the system in the RPG, here is a guide that will help you out.
How does the Charm system work in Path of Exile 2

As mentioned, Charms are a type of equipment item that gives your characters additional effects when certain conditions are met. For example, if you have the Ruby charm equipped your character will gain additional fire resistance that activates only after you receive fire damage.
However, Charms use a charge system which is why you will not be available all the time. A Charm has a max charge capacity of 80 and an amount of the charge is consumed every time the effects activate.
So Charms should generally be used when you absolutely need them, it’s best to reserve them for boss encounters. However, feel free to use the Charms if you have a good stock of them. As Charms can also be crafted, you can roll rarer effects of them which will include features like increased charges gained and reduced charges used.

How to get Charms in Path of Exile 2
Charms are usually obtained as a random drop from enemies. Bosses have a higher chance of dropping them, and you will be able to craft Charms as well. Another way of getting Charms is to complete quests and obtain them as a reward.
