The right gear and gear modifications are key in helping you maximize your build for the late game in Path of Exile 2. Every gear in the game drops with a certain rarity including, gray, blue, yellow, and orange. Gray is the most basic with basic stats, and with each tier upgrade, you will get an additional magical bonus.
These bonuses are the gear modifications that are as important to your build as Passive Skills. However, the gear and gear mods that you get from either crafting or as a drop from bosses will depend on RnG.
So if you are lucky you will get the BiS for the build that you are going for. Fortunately, you can reroll gear in Path of Exile 2, and the guide below will go over how you can do that.
How to reroll gear in Path of Exile 2
To reroll gear you will need to get your hands on a Chaos Orb in Path of Exile 2. Once you have the item you will be able to use it on a piece of gear that is that is rare (or higher). You will see a yellow overlay when looking up a rare gear stat.
You can then use the Chaos Orb to reroll the bonuses, however, do keep in mind that the ones you swap in will be random as well. You will be able to switch out any available bonuses for a new one, and with additional orbs, you can keep doing this till you find the modification that you are looking for.
Note: There are risks involved with this process as well. If you have a gear that has some good bonuses, using a Chaos Orb on it can roll them out for very poor ones. So be absolutely sure when you are using it on your favorite weapons and armor.
How to farm Chaos Orbs in PoE 2
Chaos Orbs won’t drop for you as soon as you start our journey in Path of Exile 2. The first time you will encounter one in in Act 2, and will be one of the rarer crafting resources. However, they get more common as you reach Act 3. hence, if you are looking to farm up a great deal of them, you will need to at the very least progress the narrative and reach Act 3 to have an easier time.
Once you reach the Act, here are the three best ways of obtaining more Chaos Orbs in PoE 2:
- Finding mini-bosses
- Opening chests
- Killing blue or yellow-named enemies.
The drop is also based on RnG, however, these methods have the best chance of netting you the gear reroll item.
