Combat is the central pillar of any Musou game, and Dynasty Warriors Origins is no different in this regard. With a focus on large-scale combat and exciting boss battles, maintaining your HP will be quite crucial to survival, and in turn, victory.
As such, healing in Dynasty Warriors Origins is something players should familiarize themselves with sooner of later. You can find a list of methods to heal in the game detailed below.
How to restore HP in Dynasty Warriors Origins

Much akin to prior Dynasty Warriors games, Origins lets players heal by consuming a special item, known as the Meat Bun. Players will be handed over a select amount of Meat Buns as soon as they head into their first battle, which can be consumed immediately using the Z key on PC.
To heal on consoles (PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S), simply press the up button on the D-Pad.
These buns restore a moderate amount of health and should help you stay on your feet for longer.
Where to find more Meat Buns in Dynasty Warriors Origins
Meat Buns have multiple sources. You can find them within enemy bases, usually stored within pots that can be easily broken with a light melee attack. Certain enemy Officers will also drop these buns when defeated, although the chances of this occurring seem to be quite random.
Enemies however, do not drop these items when playing the game at harder difficulties (Hero and Ultimate Warrior).
How to increase the amount of Meat Buns stored
While Dynasty Warriors Origins lets players store only 3 Meat Buns at the start of the game, this can be gradually increased using the Meat Bun Glutton skill to hold a lot more.
It is also recommended to enable the ‘Auto-Use Meat Buns’ option within the Configuration in-game menu. Doing so will let the protagonist automatically consume a Meat Bun if their health falls below a certain level – helping you focus on combat instead.
