Apart from being a YouTube content creator, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson is also known for his philanthropic efforts.
Back in 2023, MrBeast launched an effort to build 100 wells across Africa. In August this year, he created TeamWater, a team made of content creators and social media personalities to provide clean water to 2 million people in Malawi, Ecuador and other countries.
However, recently, individuals online have claimed that the wells that he built in Africa aren’t operational anymore.
MrBeast Calls Out False Claims Over African Wells
In a tweet earlier this week, MrBeast called out these false claims by saying that he had a webpage in place to track the functionality of the wells he built.
This webpage contains every single detail about the wells that he’s built, including the last date of when they’d been checked. There’s also video proof that all the wells he’s built are functional.
People desperate for ad revenue have falsely claimed that the 100 wells I built for people in need don’t work anymore WITH ZERO PROOF! So I sent someone to EVERY SINGLE WELL to get video proof of them all still working over a year later. Checkmate liars.

In the tweet, he also added that he had sent individuals to physically inspect if the wells were working or not. Lashing out at the critics he said that the claims were made based with zero proof.
He even attached screenshots of individuals who had called him out on his efforts. One of the individuals who made such claims even commented on the post saying that they didn’t want to attack the YouTuber.
They just wanted to know if the wells were working, and aided the TeamWater effort by donating $5,000 to the cause.
That said, this isn’t the first time MrBeast has faced criticism online for his charitable work. He’s been called out on a lot of occasions previously, but he’s always managed to silence the critics.
However, he’s always been supported by individuals he’s helped in the past, with many individuals coming out on social media to state that he had actually helped them.
