Wuthering Waves tips and tricks for Genshin Impact veterans

As a Genshin Impact player, you have conquered the challenges Teyvat offered and now you want to give Wuthering Waves a try. It is, after all, one of the talked about games of this year, and now you want to jump into the apocalyptic world of Solaris-3.

Despite having a familiar feel to Tevyat, the dystopian open-world landscape of Solaris-3 can be somewhat challenging. So, here are a few tips and tricks that will help you explore the world in Wuthering Waves easily.

Best Wuthering Waves tips and tricks if you are a Genshin Impact player

The following pointers should help you explore the world of Solaris-3 in Wuthering Waves without much trouble.

1) Combat

The very first thing you will notice in Wuthering Waves is that the battles are tough. Kuro Games is known for creating difficult, yet satisfying combat loops to keep you engaged. If you want to survive each boss encounter, you will need to get a hang of their attack patterns. We also recommend you fight the overworld enemies a few times so that you can get a hang of the parrying and dodging.

Similar to Genshin, you can use i-frames (invincibility frames) to dodge devastating blows, but that will be quite scarce. Activating your skills on time and mastering the ability to dodge or parry is the effective way to emerge victorious in Wutherin Waves.

2) Banners

Another major change that you will notice is how banners and gacha rates work in Wuthering Waves. You will have limited character and weapon banners for each update but that is not all. The standard banner will be divided individually into characters and weapons. Besides that, you will also receive two beginner banners.

You will be able to obtain a random 5-star character and one of your choice with 120 Gacha Pulls from these two banners. It is a great way to start the game, as you can obtain support and a DPS choice early on based on your luck.

3) Events and engame content

Besides exploring the open world and partaking in main and side quests, Wuthering Waves is set to offer some endgame content as well, which are as follows:

  • Depth of Illusive Realm: A rogue-like game mode
  • Tower of Adversity: A Tower climbing game mode where you will need to finish each stage to progress. This will be akin to the Spiral Abyss from Genshin Impact.

Besides these two, you will also have access to limited-time events during each patch of Wuthering Waves, similar to Genshin Impact.

4) Exploration

Exploration in Wuthering Waves is more fluent when compared to Genshin Impact. Climbing mountains is easier, and you can use a grappling hook to get around the map. You can also perform a double jump using the hook, and it’s recommended that you to master it.

When using the Grapple Hook to jump and make your way around the map, it’s worth noting that you won’t take fall damage, so that’s a nice little incentive for you to extensively use the item and explore the world.

5) Echoes

You will be able to obtain the essence of enemies you defeat and turn them into echoes. They can be equipped to boost your stats, similar to artifacts of Genshin Impact. But unlike the artifacts, echoes do not consume your Stamina/ Resin/ Power, and can be farmed by exploring the world.

The easiest way to farm these echoes would be to join co-op sessions and clear the map of every single enemy that spawns.
