The Fire Knight’s Greatsword is a new weapon introduced in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC for Elden Ring.
This weapon has been taking the Elden Ring PvP scenario by storm because it lets players use the “true combo” mechanic. In most scenarios, using the Fire Knight’s Greatsword would result in a win for you because of its ability to stagger enemies easily.
The Fire Knight’s Greatsword can be dropped by the Fire Knight in Shadow Keep after you defeat it. This enemy is usually found guarding the path to the elevator. You might also want to equip the Silver Scarab Talisman to increase the drop chances of this item, which raises your Discovery stat by 75 points.

The Fire Knight’s Greatsword is a new addition that boasts innate fire damage. It can also be infused with Ashes of War for even more versatility. What makes this weapon absolutely broken is its unique move set, which allows it to perform a true combo with its light attacks.
As showcased in a YouTube video by OnlyWaifu, an opponent who is hit by the first light attack will be stunned and unable to dodge out of the way of the second hit, making it a true combo.
The Fire Knight’s Greatsword has fire damage by default. This can be further enhanced by equipping fire-resistant armor or using talismans that increase fire damage and is also compatible with Ashes of War, which allows you to add new special attacks to the weapon.

True combos are a mechanic that originated from the Dark Souls franchise. The Chaos Zweihander was a particularly notorious weapon in the Dark Souls series owing to its colossal weapon size and its dominating true combos that decimated opponents too easily.
“It really is the return of the CHAOS ZWEIHANDER,” commented a player, while another added, “I can hear the base canon from here.”
The mention of the “base canon” reinforces the connection to the frustration some players experienced facing the Zweihander. Fans aren’t exactly annoyed by this, but the sense of dread and the flashbacks from years ago and its aftermath can be a devastating memory for many players.
