Ever since its inception, Bungie has introduced a plethora of Exotic weapons in Destiny 2. While some of them have faded into obscurity, some of them have solidified their place in the meta.
Unlike the normal weapons in the game, Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 come with an additional perk that causes them to deal more damage or debuff the target in some way.
Creating builds that revolve around these very perks can be beneficial for players, especially in some of the more challenging activities in Destiny 2.
That said, here are some of the best Exotic weapons that you can use in any activity in Destiny 2.
5 best Exotic weapons in Destiny 2
It’s worth noting that, unlike the Exotic Armor pieces, most of the Exotic weapons in Destiny 2 don’t have a neutral game. That said, here are some of the best weapons that you can come across in Bungie’s popular looter shooter.
1) Izanagi’s Burden

Izanagi’s Burden is one of the few Exotic snipers that you will come across in Destiny 2. This weapon can be purchased from the Exotic Archives at the Tower.
Although it functions like a normal Sniper Rifle, the Exotic perk on it allows the weapon to deal a massive amount of precision damage. Pair it with a Rocket Launcher which has the Auto-Loading Holster perk, and you will be melting bosses in no time.
2) Sunshot

The Sunshot is a very versatile Hand Cannon. It hits hard and can eliminate red-bar enemies with a single shot. What’s more interesting is that it can easily scorch other targets if they’re close to an enemy you’ve slain with this weapon.
Furthermore, if you get a precision kill with this weapon, the target explodes. Since Bungie is focusing on the Solar subclass in Destiny 2 Season of the Wish, the Sunshot can be easily paired with any Solar build.
3) Wish-Ender

This is probably the only bow in the game that can deal massive amounts of damage, thanks to its Exotic perk. The weapon can also deal with Barrier Champions because of the Anti-Barrier intrinsic perk.
There’s an elaborate mission that you need to complete to collect the Wish-Ender Exotic in Destiny 2. But once you do, you’ll be taking the Wish-Ender with you in almost every Grandmaster Nightfall.
4) Divinity

In Destiny 2, precision strikes deal more damage than regular strikes. However, if there’s a boss that moves around too much, like Simmumah-Ar-Nokru, the final boss in the Ghosts of the Deep dungeon, landing precision strikes isn’t easy.
That’s where the Divinity comes in. This Arc Trace Rifle creates a bubble around the enemy. Any shot that you land inside this bubble is counted as a precision shot, and deals bonus damage to the boss. If that wasn’t enough, when this bubble is active, the boss takes a bonus 15% damage.
5) Riskrunner

It’s rather odd to add the Riskrunner to a list of the best Exotic weapons in Destiny 2, but this weapon is severely underrated. Especially after the Arc subclass rework, the Riskrunner can be used with almost any Arc build in the game.
When you take additional damage while wielding this weapon, you gain damage resistance. The duration of this buff extends whenever you get a kill. If you also get rapid kills with this weapon, then rounds keep coming back to the magazine, thereby reducing the number of times you need to reload this weapon.
