With the Vessel of Hatred expansion, a brand-new class known as the Spiritborn will be joining the current Diablo 4 class roster. Exclusive to the jungles of Kurast, the Spiritborn, just like the Druids, draws their powers from the spirits.
However, they’re quite nimble and swift as the Rogues which makes them a hybrid between a tank and a damage dealer.
So, here’s everything you need to know about the Spiritborn class in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred.
Diablo 4 Spiritborn release date
The Spiritborn class will be available in the game once the Vessel of Hatred expansion goes live on October 9, 2024.
While you’ll still be able to access the base game and the other classes once the expansion goes live, the new class will be restricted to players who’ve purchased the expansion only.
Although the class will be available from the very beginning of the campaign, you’ll be able to unlock the different spirits and their powers as you progress through the different missions and level up your character.
All Diablo 4 Spiritborn abilities in Vessel of Hatred explained
The Spiritborn class has access to four spirits, namely the Gorilla (Wumba), Jaguar (Rezoka), Eagle (Kwatli) and Centipede (Balazan).

Wumba
- Rock Splitter (Basic, Gorilla, Mobility)
- Rush at a target and clobber enemies in front of you, dealing [15%] damage. Your third attack strikes enemies around you, dealing [28%] damage
- Generate Vigor: 11
- Lucky Hit Chance: 28%
- Damage Type: Physical
- Concussive Stomp (Defensive, Gorilla)
- Stomp in front of you, releasing a shockwave that deals [15%] damage and Knocks Down enemies for 3 seconds

- Payback (Potency, Gorilla)
- Smash enemies in front of you, dealing [100%] damage. When attacked, you have a 35% chance to reduce Payback’s active Cooldown by 1 second

- The Protector (Ultimate, Gorilla)

Kwatli

- Hurl 5 feathers that pierce through enemies, each dealing [14%] damage

Balazan

- Scourge (Defensive, Centipede)
- Call forth a wave of insects that bite enemies, Fearing and Slowing them for 3 seconds and applying [100%] Poisoning damage over 6 seconds

- Stinger (Core, Centipede)
- Strike a small area, dealing [70%] damage to enemies within as well as all surrounding Poisoned enemies

- The Centipede Spirit emerges, blasting enemies in a line for [140%] damage and splitting at others for [40%] damage. Lasts for 15 seconds

Adaptive Stances
- – The Base Spirit of a Skill cast will grant the following:
- Eagle: 30% Movement Speed
- Gorilla: 30% Damage Reduction
- Jaguar: 30% Attack Speed
- Centipede: 30% Life Steal
Casting a different Base Spirit Skill will do the following:
- Swaps to the new bonus
- Increases Core Stats by 50% for 5 seconds
Noxious Resonance
- Your Critical Strikes cause enemies to burst 100% of the Poisoning on them as Poison damage to those around them
Prodigy’s Tempo
- Every third consecutive cast of the same Basic Skill increases all Skill Ranks by 2 for 5 seconds. Every third consecutive cast of the same Core or Potency Skill reduces all Skills’ active Cooldowns by 10%, increased by 2% for each of their Skill Ranks
Vital Strikes
- You deal 100% increased damage to Vulnerable enemies. After making an enemy Vulnerable, your next Direct damage dealt to them:
- Heals you for 2% of your Maximum Life
- Generates 5 Vigor
- Removes the Vulnerable effect
What is the Spirit Hall?
The Spirit Hall is where you will be able to unlock your class bonuses for the Spiritborn in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred.
Once you’ve made it to level 15, you will receive a special class quest, where you will be able to pick a special Spirit boon from one of the four Spirits mentioned above.
The boon that you pick, will give additional effects to all your skills, enhancing them and allowing you to deal more damage and survive longer.
When you reach level 30, you’ll be able to pick another boon, either from the same Spirit or from a different one.
