FaZe Banks, a popular individual belonging to the FaZe Clan, has said that he’ll be taking a break from the internet and will be leaving the clan over an alleged crypto scams.
Ever since cryptocurrencies came to being, a lot of meme coins have risen up and several influencers and internet personalities have endorsed them too.
FaZe Banks’ decision to step away from the internet stems from a potential crypto scam where he and Kick Streamer Adin Ross were allegedly involved.
What Are the Allegations Against FaZe Banks and Adin Ross?
In January this year, Banks and Ross were promoting a cryptocurrency called MLG. Thanks to their promotions, the coin’s value increased to a great extent.
However, the profits were short lived, and the value dropped sharply. This drop caused a lot of investors to lose their money.
Following this decline, Banks was accused of being involved in a pump-and-dump scheme, which he’s been denying ever since.
On July 28, a screenshot of FaZe Banks’ message in the MLG group surfaced where he was seen claiming that MLG coin tanking was because of Adin Ross.
Banks claimed that he never sold any coin, and he grew it organically to a value of $200 Million. According to him, Adin Ross was a bad actor in this case.
Ross was quick to respond to these claims as well, saying that it was heartbreaking to see someone he called a brother stab him in the back.
He said, “The banks screenshot is real. Sh** sad asf, if you guys think that mlg being rugged was me im sorry to tell u it wasn’t. There’s a reason that entire house is silent, truth will come out eventually. I’m just more hurt on the fact someone I call my brother is behind my back.”
With FaZe Banks stepping away from the clan, there’s new management in running the stable. But it’ll be interesting to see how this controversy pans out in the future.
