There are currently a total of five classes in Dead Rails, and each of them is quite unique, bringing something different to the table when it comes to starting stats. So the class you pick will primarily depend on the kind of playstyle that you are going for.
However, some classes are a bit better than the rest and are much more versatile when it comes to surviving longer in the zombie-ridden world. They can also use most items incredibly well, so if you are looking for the best class in the Roblox game, then the tier list below will help you out.
All Dead Rails Class ranks and tier list

Here are all the five Dead Rails classes ranked and in tiers along with their starting stats.
1) S-tier classes in Dead Rails
Alamo
Cost | Appearance | Starting Items |
---|---|---|
50 Bonds | Your character will dawn a metal helmet | 1x Helmet 3x Barbed Wire 3x Metal Sheets, 1x Shovel |
The Alamo class excels at defensive capabilities which allows the class to survive longer in Dead Rails. Its main focus is to maintain as much sustain as possible and prioritizes the fortifying the train itself. It’s one of the best classes that will help you have an easier time progressing in Dead Rails.
Arsonist
Cost | Appearance | Starting Items |
---|---|---|
20 Bonds | Your character will wear a black cowboy hat | 4x Molotovs 1x Shovel |
The Arsonit’s playstyle is just the opposite of that of the Alamo. The class is all about dealing as much damage as possible to the mobs in buildings and is the best DPS class in the game. Apart from the Molotovs the Arsonist also deals 2x the normal amount of Fire damage.
2) A-tier classes in Dead Rails
Doctor
Cost | Appearance | Starting Items |
---|---|---|
15 Bonds | Your character will put on a black bowler hat | 2x Bottles of Snake Oil 2x Bandages, 1x Shovel |
The Doctor is best used when you are playing Dead Rails with a group of friends or with a party that you met on the servers. They are the resident healer and drop with some of the best-starting items in the game. They have Snake Oil and Bandages which helps them heal and revive themselves and other allies on the squad.
3) B-tier classes in Dead Rails
Ironclad
Cost | Appearance | Starting Items |
---|---|---|
100 Bonds | Your character is covered with metal armor all over | Left Shoulder Armor Right Shoulder Armor 1x Helmet 1x Chestplate 1x Shovel. |
While the class is effectively a walking tank and should help you survive longer, it’s considered one of the worst classes in Dead Rails. This is because, with all the defensive stats the class gets a 20% movement speed debuff. Movement is everything in the game and is the primary tool that lets you survive against the monsters. That stat getting considerably slowed will have a huge impact on how well you get to progress to the later stages of the game.
No Class
Cost | Appearance | Starting Items |
---|---|---|
– | – | Shovel |
The base class that every player gets in the game. It comes with no additional stats and modifiers and is considered to be one of the weakest choices in Dead Rails. However, you do start a round with a shovel and make your way up one building at a time.
