April Fools’ updates are here, and Minecraft is just one of the many games to feature a dedicated practical joke of sorts this year. This year’s April Fools joke has players interacting with the Minecraft launcher directly in order to boot up LaunchCraft, which is quite the complicated little minigame.
In short, this particular update entirely transforms the look and feel of the stock Minecraft launcher, introducing with it new features. Players can interact with the launcher in order to fill up a progress bar, and thereby unlock a new ‘Launcher Skill’.
More on these skills below, along with instructions on how to get them.

The event apparently goes up to Level 9001, which should unlock a launcher developer option. However, getting there is no easy task, and perhaps impossible by design.
As such, the last two rewards (Old Launcher UI and Launcher Cape) are not possible to obtain, and are likely part of the April Fools joke.
How to unlock LaunchCraft levels faster in Minecraft

The longer you stay on the new launcher, the faster your LaunchCraft levels will progress. There is however, a way to progress faster.
To do so, simply swap between the available tabs on the left side of the UI (which denote all ‘versions’ of Minecraft – with the exception of the Movie) rapidly. This will greatly hasten your progression through the event. It is also possible to click on the progress bar in order to make it speed up.
Make sure to also unlock skills as you go, in order to level up faster.
