Private servers aren’t exactly a foreign concept, and have existed for quite some time now. They allow for players to play together with a close group of friends, avoiding dealing with randoms entirely in the process.
Private servers also come with some goodies including modded items, which might make them worth trying out. Fisch also has quite a handful of private servers to choose from.
