All Star Tower Defense X Arena PvP Mode Explained

All Star Tower Defense X is a Roblox experience with a dedicated PvP mode where you face off against other players for map supremacy.

Interestingly enough, the PvP mode has its own dedicated currencies and rewards, so it’s definitely something that you should be going after.

That said, here’s everything you need to know about the PvP mode for All Star Tower Defense X in Roblox.

How Does Arena PvP Work in All Star Tower Defense X?

The Arena mode in All Star Tower Defense X is where all the PvP action takes place. In this mode, you either face off against another individual, or you partner with another player to face another pair of enemies.

The idea is simple, both teams (or individuals if you’re playing solo), are assigned one half of the map. Your goal is to defend your side as long as possible. The one that survives the longest wins.

How to Play Arena in All Star Tower Defense X

To play the Arena PvP mode, all you need to do is click on the Arena icon that you see on the home screen after you’ve launched the experience on Roblox.

When you click on the menu, you’ll see two new windows. The first one gives you information about your stats and how you’ve performed so far. The second window is where you launch your battles from.

How Do Rank and ELO Work in ASTD X

When you venture into the Arena in All Star Tower Defense X, you will encounter two specific terms, namely Rank and ELO. Here’s what they mean:

ASTD X PvP Rewards
  • Rank: This works similar to other PvP games like Rainbow Six Siege or Valorant. Rank is a standing that you receive based on how many victories you’ve accrued during your playthrough. This resets at the end of every season, thereby keeping the gameplay loop fresh.
  • ELO: This is the points that you earn for securing a victory in ASTD X. Remember, while winning matches lets you score points, losing matches will take away points from you. Lose enough and you’ll be demoted to a lower rank too.

How to Win in All Star Tower Defense X PvP Arena

Considering that it’s a PvP setting, it’ll become difficult to win matches if you don’t have a clear plan of what you need to do to survive the longest. Here are a few tips that should help you win matches in All Star Tower Defense X PvP:

Banning screen in ASTD X
  • Ban Phase: Before the round starts, you get to ban two units from your opponents pools. Ban the strongest units that they have and you’re good to go. If your opponent has any units that you don’t, they’ll be greyed out for you. You can choose to ban them to level the playing field for you.
  • Pick Phase: You get to pick a total of six units before you head into the match. For this, be sure to pick two support units and four DPS units. This is an appropriate combination that should help you win matches easily. Whenever you head into this phase, you should notice a unit modifier over the characters. This modifier boosts your units powers, so be sure to pick DPS units that are affected by this unit modifier.
  • Choice of Ability Cards: Once you’ve picked up your units, you get to choose three ability cards. These are single use power-ups that can give you an edge during the battle. It’s best to use this cards towards the later stages of the rounds, especially when you have powerful mobs running around on the battlefield.
  • Spawning Enemies: Once you’re in the fight, you get to choose when to spawn units for the enemies. Yes, this costs money, but can often mean that you come out victorious. Additionally, you will also earn income based on the units that you’ve spawned.
    • Before you hit wave 10, try to spawn the most expensive units you’ve got at your disposal.
    • Post wave 10, spawn units based on how your opponent has placed their units. For example, if they’ve got Hill units, it’s useless to spawn aerial units to attack them.
    • Overall, keep an eye on what your enemy cannot counter, and spawn those units only.
  • Unit Placement: Since All Star Tower Defense is basically a tower defense game, being able to crowd control attacking mobs is important. So whatever you do, make sure to have enough units which are capable of slowing enemy assault. Because if you’re able to slow them, then you’ve pretty much defended your base from total destruction.
