All we know about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet so far

The Game Awards 2024 ended its 10th anniversary with a bang – the reveal of Naughty Dog’s upcoming single-player action-adventure title, titled – Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

You can find a breakdown of what we know about the game thus far in the section below, detailing its scope and expected features.

Everything you need to know about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

Intergalactic gameplay

Naughty Dog is no stranger to innovation, and creating vibrant new franchises. Intergalactic seems to follow the same expected trajectory as prior legendary entries such as The Last of Us and Crash Bandicoot.

This is a brand new, single player IP created from scratch for the PlayStation 5. The game is expected to deliver the same, unparalleled sense of immersion and breathtaking storytelling scope of the developer’s earlier titles – quoted to be an ‘emotional, character driven’ journey.

Gameplay wise, Naughty Dog hopes to bring its best foot forward, crafting a unique experience like no other that builds upon the fundamentals, learning from prior works.

Details are rather scarce at the moment, and the game is likely to be in its initial stages of development – do not expect a release date to be revealed any time soon.

Judging from what we were shown at The Game Awards 2024, Intergalactic lives up to its name, and has players take control of a yet unnamed female protagonist as they venture into deep space as a bounty hunter on the lost planet of Sempiria.

The protagonist wields a red plasma sword, which is supposedly used for melee attacks. It is hoped that interstellar travel will also be a part of the gameplay, given that the protagonist does own a rather rad looking red spacecraft.

Overall, Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet aims to deliver the best of what the studio can offer – pushing forward and breaking new ground, delivering something unlike anything they have accomplished prior.
