How to start the Man-In-Stone quest in Black Myth: Wukong
You’ll find the Man-In-Stone waiting past the Squall Hideout shrine in Black Myth: Wukong. Here’s how you can get to him:
- Once you’re at the Yellow Wind Ridge, make your way to Sandgate Village and past the point where you battle the King of Flowing Sands and the Second Rat Prince.
- Cross the canyon via the bridge till you come across the Squall Hideout shrine. To the right of this shrine is a path that leads to a ravine.
- You will find the Man-In-Stone at the end of this pathway.
When you finally reach him, interact with the individual, and he’ll tell you about a curse that’s making all the rocks nearby, sentient. He’ll also tell you of an item that’s hidden in a nearby cave, which can help break this curse.
Where to find and defeat Mother of Stones
- After you’ve spoken to the Man-In-Stone, make your way past the Squall Hideout shrine again and cross the Rockcrest Flats fast travel point.
- You’ll come across a tunnel that will lead you deeper into the caverns. Head into the caverns through the tunnels and you will come across a rock formation with blue colored crystals.
- Hit this rock with your weapon and it’ll reveal itself as the Mother of Stones to you.
The fight will trigger after a brief dialogue sequence, but its a simple fight because the enemy doesn’t move. However, it’ll cause humanoid rocks to spawn at brief intervals.
When you defeat the Mother of Stones in Black Myth: Wukong, you’ll receive the Stone Essence. Now, make your way back to the Man-In-Stone.
How to defeat Man-In-Stone in Black Myth: Wukong
When you give the Man-In-Stone the Stone Essence, it’ll aggravate him and cause him to attack you. All you need to do is dodge and parry his attacks and keep up with strikes of your own.
He doesn’t have a lot of health, so you’ll be able to finish this fight easily. Once you’ve defeated him, you’ll receive the Rock Guai: Azure Dust transformation spell which will turn you into a Rock Guai, making you immune to all status effects.
Apart from that, he’ll also start selling a few items, which are as follows:
- Blood of the Iron Bull (3280 Will) – A spirit form upgrade material.
- Gold Ridge Beast (12,800 Will) – A high-value item.
- Iron Pellet (6480 Will) – A drink/soak that modifies the effects of your gourd flask.
- Goldflora Hairpin (12,800 Will) – This accessory increases the Will you receive from enemies.
- Sobering Stone (6,480 Will) – A quest item.
