The Call of Duty series came with a few clever easter eggs of its own, and the newest Black Ops 6 is no exception in this regard either. The ‘Liberty Falls’ quest within the game is a throwback to the exceptionally beloved Zombies game mode, and houses a few secrets of its own.
Triggering the easter egg does require a fair bit of work though, which will be explained in detail in the next section.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Liberty Falls walkthrough
1) Head to the Hilltop Church
- Load into the Liberty Falls map and unlock the barricade between the fast forward shop and ice-cream vendor.
- Head up the stairs next to Olly’s Shop, locked behind a gate.
- Make your way left from the crafting bench and through the locked door.
- Head through the Church entrance to find a rather curious contraption.
Interact with the machine to proceed further.
2) Obtain the Jet Gun
- You can obtain a Jet Gun from either a Mystery Box or via the Wonderbar! Gobblegum. Keep in mind that these methods do not guarantee the Wonder Weapon, and consume a fair bit of Essence.
- For a more reliable (but lengthy) way to get the Jet Gun, simply head to the Motel and head up the stairs to Room 202 of the Motor Lodge.
- Opening the door will greet you with a swarm of zombies. Make sure to be well equipped before heading into the room.
- Once the room is clear of enemies, use the workbench to craft the Jet Gun.
3) Obtain a total of 3 LTG parts
- Interact with the machine back at the Church to spawn a hat on the balcony near the entrance. Use the Jet Gun to grab the item.
- Head to Buzz’s Cuts on Washington Avenue. Drive around to grab yet another item using the Jet Gun stuck near the right window of the shop.
- Finally, head to the comic shop at the beginning of the region to find the last item snuck inside the ceiling above the counter.
3) Assemble and use the LTG, and capture the required Essence
- Zip down from Washington Avenue to the Bank’s roof to find a workbench. Interact with it to craft the LTG device.
- Make your way back to the Church again. Grab an Aether Canister from the contraption you visited previously, and carry it over to the gas station. Place it near one of the many traps.
- Zombies will attempt to thwart your plans. Eliminate them and secure the region for about 60 seconds.
- Fight off the Abomination to weaken it.
- Use the Aether Canister to capture its Essence before you finish it off for good.
4) Find the Strauss Counters
- Deposit the now full Aether Canister into the machine at the Church to obtain the Strauss Counter.
- You can find the first contraption on the nearby hill, ahead of the bowling alley.
- The second contraption is found near a white house near the Church.
- The third machine is found in the backyard.
- The fourth and final machine can be found on top of the Bank’s roof.
Interact with each machine using the Strauss Counter to activate it. The Strauss Counter must be used in tandem with the machines, with the goal of matching the colors on either machine.
5) Grab and use another Aether Canister to capture more Essence
- Once you have completed the prior objectives, an Aether Canister will spawn in the region.
- Grab the LTG from where you captured the Essence of the Abomination, and place an Aether Canister next to the traps like before.
- Deposit the LTG device in the Graveyard, as instructed.
- Zombies will spawn. Defend your position for 60 seconds.
- A Mangler will spawn shortly afterward – lure it to the Aether Canister.
- Kill the Mangler to extract its Essence into the nearby Aether Canister.
You can now drop the Canister back to the machine within the Church.
Replenish your health, ammo and perks before activating the machine one final time. Activating it will spawn more zombies, which must be dealt with promptly. In addition to the three waves, there will also be an Elite Abomination and Wrangler to deal with.
A cutscene will follow shortly afterward, which marks the end of the Liberty Falls quest (and easter egg).
What are the rewards you can obtain from the Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Liberty Falls quest?
The following rewards are handed out when you successfully complete the Liberty Falls quest:
- Ray Gun PJ-SRU; a skin for the Ray Gun
- The ‘Liberty Falls Quest Complete’ calling card; a golden skull will be imprinted on this card if players manage to complete the quest early
