The advent of PC and console gaming had differentiated user bases for a long time, until quite recently – with more and more developers opting to enable crossplay on their flagship titles. Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 also features crossplay functionality right out of the box, allowing for players from all 3 supported platforms to play together.
The steps to access the same, and its associated caveats can be found detailed in the section below.
How to enable crossplay in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2
Crossplay works out of the box in Space Marine 2, and is enabled by default. Friends can join in on the fun from the following supported platforms:
- PC (Steam)
- PC (Epic Games Store)
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X/S
Crossplay can only be accessed within the campaign and PvE game modes, without any restrictions of the sort. The Eternal War PvP game mode will have this feature permanently disabled – separating PC and console players into two distinct groups, in order to preserve game balance.
For those wishing to play with PC/console only players, there does exist a dedicated option to disable crossplay entirely. Keep in mind that this option lacks fine-tuned controls, and as such cannot block players from a specific console platform – meaning that PC players cannot specifically choose to play with either Xbox or PlayStation players, if so desired.

Is there cross-save in Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2?
Warhammer 40k Space Marine 2 also supports cross-save, allowing players to transfer their progression from one platform to the other in a relatively seamless manner. Players will have to leverage the PROS (Prism Ray Online Services) functionality in order to ‘link’ their saves at will.
Make sure to scan the QR code when linking a game using PROS. Once linked, you can easily share saves between the supported platforms.
