Dead Rails complete Horse Class guide

As a part of the April Fools event celebration, you will be able to unlock the Horse Class for your character in Dead Rails. It’s a part of the limited-time event in the Roblox Game, which dropped along with the Horsing Around game mode.

So if you are looking to make the most of the Horse Class in Dead Rails, then the guide below will help you out.

How to unlock the Horse Class in Dead Rails

Horsing Around game mode Dead Rails

You will be able to unlock the Horse Class in Dead Rails by completing the Horsing Around game mode, which is a part of the limited-time event. You can play the mode by making your way to the party creations stage and then selecting Horsing Around there.

When you boot up this game mode, you will spawn as a horse and be made to follow the rail tracks. The goal is to run 80 kilometers to reach Mexico, and loot all the important items and gear along the way.

While you do spawn as a horse, you will be equipped with a shovel and a sack, so you will be able to do most things that a human would. The mode is best played with other players to make progression easier. However, if you are planning to take it on solo, here are a few tips that you should keep in mind:

1) Get a weapon and armor as soon as possible

Hunt for a weapon as soon as the mode starts. One of the best ways of acquiring one will be to sell all the Gold Bars and purchase a weapon from the Gunsmith. So, start with a Shotgun, which will make early progression considerably easier. Once you have enough money, you will then be able to upgrade your arsenal to Rifles and other better weapons.

While you are out purchasing weapons, make sure to get armor for your horse-self as well, as it will help you survive longer.

2) It’s possible to outrun most zombies

It will be possible for you to outrun most of the zombies in Horsing Around, apart from a few special ones. Zombies will usually run at the same pace as you, so as long as you are maintaining some distance, it will not be difficult to avoid them.

3) Farm Outlaws for loot

Farm Outlaws for valuable loot in Dead Rails

While it’s ok to avoid Zombies, make sure you are taking out every Outlaw that you come across. Outlaws are a great source of cash and valuable loot, like Snake Oil and other healing items. So take them out and loot them as soon as you encounter one.

4) Keep a lot of Healing Items with you

Horsing Around is a pretty difficult mode to conquer solo. So to heal your horse, make sure to have as many bandages and Snake Oils with you as possible. Apart from healing yourself, these items will also let you revive allies when they go down during a co-op session.

5) Be wary of the nights

When it’s nighttime, there are a few environmental effects that you will need to be aware of:

  • Blood Moon: Vampires spawn in front of you when there is a Blood Moon. They are pretty easy to avoid, and all you will have to do is run forward and then sideways to avoid their attacks. Vampires will not be able to catch up to you when you are a horse.
  • Full Moon: Full Moon is where Werewolves spawn. They are very fast and cannot be outrun. So the best strategy against them will be to run backward while hitting them with your weapon.
  • New Moon: New Moon spawns Runner Zombies. They too, are impossible to outrun, and the best way to deal with them is to shoot them while running backwards.
  • Lightning Storm: Lightning Storms will at times strike at night. The best way to avoid them will be to go inside a building and wait for it to pass. You can also avoid getting hit by one by carrying a Lightning Rod around if you are looking to not waste time and just run through.

How to use the Horse Class in Dead Rails

Equipping the Horse Class at the Tailor in Dead Rails

Once you have completed the limited-time Horsing Around mode by making your way to Mexico, you will automatically see the Horse Class appear in your Dead Rails character customization menu. You will be able to equip this class on your character by making your way to the Tailor option in the main lobby and then selecting “Horse”.

When you are playing as a Horse Class, here are a few features that you will need to keep a note of:

  • As a Horse, you will not be able to regen health on your own. So you will need to keep a lot of healing items with you.
  • Your character will have increased movement speed when compared to other classes. However, you will not be as fast as Vampires, Werewolves, or Runner Zombies.
  • Other players in your party will be able to ride you after equipping a saddle on you.
  • You will be able to carry around a cart to store additional items and valuable loot. This will let you trade more often in Trading Posts that you spot along the way. Allowing you to obtain more money fast.
