With The Forever Winter coming into Early Access stages, players have been wondering if the game has a PvP multiplayer mode.
For an extraction shooter, it’s not odd for developers to include a PvP aspect to the game. Other titles like Gray Zone Warfare and Call of Duty’s DMZ mode has had a PvP mode too.
So, here’s everything we know about The Forever Winter and its PvP multiplayer mode.
Is there PvP multiplayer in The Forever Winter?
For now, there is no PvP multiplayer mode in The Forever Winter, and it’s unlikely that the developers will be adding it at any given point over the duration of the Early Access mode.
Furthermore, the non-inclusion of a PvP mode in game is a decision that the developers took before the game was launched in the Early Access mode.
The game moves away from the standard PvEvP models and focuses entirely on the PvE elements, unlike most of the other games in the extraction shooter genre.
Lore-wise, in The Forever Winter, we’re a scavenger and a loot goblin, who’s trying to survive amongst the several warring factions in a post-apocalyptic world.
Interestingly enough, you will also come across a few situations where you’ll see two factions fighting against each other and you’ll have to make your way through these gunfights safely.
As of now, you’ll only be able to team up with other players in a co-op environment. Alternatively, you can also play this game solo, or you can team up with AI controlled NPCs to help you during your raids.
What makes it more interesting that there is no friendly fire either, and the only instance when something like this happened was during the closed beta where players could melee each other in the common social area. That however, was an unintentional bug, and was patched out soon.
