Chase Change is a key combat mechanic that you should be looking to master to have an easier time in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Team Battles. When executed correctly the Chase Change maneuver will let you switch characters mid-way through an attack to continue your combo.
It’s one of the more challenging techniques to familiarize yourself with in the game as you will need to get the switch timings right. Here is a guide on how you will be able to perform the Chase Change maneuver in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
How to perform a Chase Change in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

You will be able to practice the Chase Change technique in the Battle Training’s Intermediate hub. Once you boot it up you will then need to follow the steps below to perform it:
- Start your Rush Attack by using a simple punch button.
- Now keep holding down the switch interaction button to be able to switch characters right after.
- While holding the button, press the Rush Attack again to continue the combo with the switched attacker.
You will need to be precise with your button inputs to be able to successfully Chase Change. Messing up the timings will not switch in the new character or you will also drop the rush combo once the swap happens.
Tips to mastering the Chase Change technique
Here are some tips you should follow to successfully pull off a Chase Change every time in Sparking Zero:
- Make sure you are holding down the switch interaction along with the left-directional button and then performing a Rush Attack.
- Just tapping the directional button won’t work, so hold onto it till the swap happens and the combo continues.
- You can make the most of Chase Change after you send an opponent flying. As soon as the animation starts when you hit them away, use the interaction button to bring out the switch and land an additional hit.
Make sure you use the Battle Training section to practice this move as long as possible till you are comfortable with the input timings.
