Dynasty Warriors Origins complete Horse guide

Horses are a great way of covering great distances in Dynasty Warrior Origins if you are on a large battlefield or sifting through your unlocked provinces in the overworld. Horses also have the ability to aid you in combat as you will be able to wield your weapons while on the go.

This will let you tap into some hit-and-run strategies, especially if you are having a rather tough time getting through an officer.

So if you want to know about the mount system in the RPG, then the guide below will help you out.

How to unlock and use a horse in Dynasty Warriors Origins

You will get your first horse after reaching Chapter 1 and then interacting with the merchant whom you will find in the overworld. The NPC will be available right after the “Test Of Zheng Fei” mission, so once you have completed the quest head northeast from Wan Castle and you will find the NPC on your way to the Battle of Guangzong.

So when you spot him, interact with him, and he will gift you his horse. This is your very first mount in Dynasty Warriors Origins, and you will be able to summon it by pressing down the left joystick if you are on a controller or pressing V on the keyboard.

How to change horses in Dynasty Warriors Origins

Getting horse in Dynasty Warriors Origins

As you progress through the narrative you will be able to unlock more horses. You will be able to change between them by making your way to the Battle Preparation menu.

Every horse has a perk that is unique to it, so it’s a good idea to unlock as many as you can as these mounts will really be useful in multiple battles and skirmishes.

You will obtain new horses as a form of reward by raising the peace of a region to the max. When you do this, interact with the fast travel waypoint near it and you will automatically get your new mount.

How to level up your horse in Dynasty Warriors Origins

Your horse will earn XP when you complete battles and skirmishes. You don’t necessarily have to use it, all you will need to do is to have it equipped. The amount of XP they gain varies from mission to mission, and the longer an encounter the more experience points they gather.

Another thing that is taken into account is how much you have used your horse and used it to charge enemies. So the longer you have it out on the field, the higher will be its XP gain.

When you level up a mount, they will receive a buff every few tiers. These perks are unique to them allowing each horse to be useful for a different situation.
