Can you swap characters in Dynasty Warriors Origins?

It is currently not possible to swap characters during gameplay in Origins. This is quite unlike prior entries in the franchise, which is also a departure from the usual formula – you must stick to the protagonist.
It is still possible to control certain friendly NPCs during battle though.
Does Dynasty Warriors Origins have multiplayer support?
The game unfortunately does not support multiplayer – or even cross-progression. There is a distinct lack of split screen support too.

Despite initial impressions, Origins is not an open world game. The game does feature a ton of open areas in which large scale battles take place though.

You can play the game starting January 13, 2024 – but there’s a catch. To gain early access, you must have already purchased the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game beforehand.

As of the time of writing this article, Origins does have a preload live – but only for consoles. The download sizes are 44 GB and 43 GB for the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 respectively.
There is no PC preload up just yet, but expect to reserve atleast 50 GB off space for the game.
