The map of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom is by no means small, and you might prefer having a traveling means later on, like a horse. Fortunately, you can get a horse in the brand-new Nintendo Adventure early if you know what to do.
So, if you are tired of walking around the entire map and want a faster mode of transportation to track down the automatons and others, here’s how you can get a horse!
How to get a horse
To get yourself the horse in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, you’ll have to start and complete a sidequest named “Runway Horse.” This gives Zelda her first horse in-game, which is fast enough to avoid walking.
After completing the first main dungeon in the Suthorn Ruins, head over to Hyrule Ranch, located on the west portion of the map. Once you arrive, talk with the old man with the quest marker to begin the quest line “Runaway Horse.” Zelda gets tasked to track down a missing mount.

With the quest started, head west of the ranch to reach a grassy plane. Here, the horse will be grazing on an island in a pond. You’ll have to put a platform on the gap to get the horse across. The best idea is to place a bed, which can work as a crossing platform.
After this, get the horse out, take it to the Hyrule Ranch, and complete the sidequest! From now on, you can visit the Hyrule Ranch and rent out a horse whenever you want in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. The only downside is that you cannot call a rental horse to you, and you have to return to where you last left your horse.
How to get a permanent horse in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom
While visiting the Hyrule Ranch and hiring a horse sounds reasonable, having a permanent horse in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom is always better. To get one, you must complete the questline “Impa’s Gift.” You get this quest after finishing the “Still Missing” questline.
Talk with Impa at the throne room to start the quest, then head back to Hyrule Ranch to talk to a woman. While doing so, a boy comes to you, informing you about the new rift appearing at a carrot patch.

In the rift, you rescue four groups of Tri’s friends. Rescue them at various points in the rift and seal it. Once you do that, you’ll get to use the skill Bind. Use that on a carrot to get Zelda’s horse out of hiding, receiving yourself the iconic steed in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.
While at it, ensure you learn the carrot echo by binding another carrot. This will allow you to summon your horse whenever you want around the map.
