Manglers are the tough mini-bosses that you face when completing missions in the Zombies mode of Call of Duty Black Ops 6. Fortunately, you will be able to turn into and play as this mini-boss to crush the incoming horde of zombies in the shooter.
You get to fight fire with fire, and it’s definitely one of the more fun aspects of the Zombies mode in Black Ops 6. So here is a guide that goes over everything you need to know about becoming a Mangler mini-boss.
How to play as a Mangler in Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Zombies
To be able to turn into a Mangler in Black Ops 6 you will need to first get your hands on the Mutant Injection Support Scorestreak. This is one of the rarer items that you will find in Zombies and there are a few ways that you can go about obtaining it.
Once you have the Injection you will then be able to turn into a Mangler by pressing Down on the D-Pad or 3 on the keyboard.
Here are all the ways of obtaining the Mutant Injection in Black Ops 6:
1) Killing Manglers
As mentioned, the most straightforward way of getting the Mutant Injection is to kill Manglers who attack you with the hordes. There is an RnG on it, and you will need to be lucky to get it as a drop.
2) Complete S.A.M. Challenges
Completing the various S.A.M. Challenges will also net you a Mutant Injection. So it’s another great way of obtaining the item in the shooter.
3) Opening safety deposit boxes
Mutant Injections can also be found in safety deposit boxes in the bank vaults of Liberty Falls. So make sure you are opening them when playing Zombies.
4) Purchase it with Salvage
Once you reach Player Level 39 you will be able to make your way to any Crafting Table on the map and then purchase the Mutant Injection for 2,500 Salvage from the Support category.
How to use the Mangler in Black Ops 6 Zombies
When you use the Mutant Injection to turn into a Mangler, you will get a small period of invulnerability during the animation process. You will take no damage during and after the transformation, and once the animation goes through, you will be taken to a third-person camera perspective where your character has already turned into a Mangler.
The transformation is also followed by an AoE blast which will blow away all Zombies that have swarmed around you.
Now, once you have turned into a Mangler, you will gain access to the Mangler Cannon which has an infinite supply of ammo. You can charge up the weapon and use it to auto-target enemies or just hold R2/RT/Left-Click to shoot through enemies.
You can also Hold Shift/L3 to sprint and slam into zombies to immediately take them out.
With every Zombie kill you will earn 50 essence. This makes the transformation amazing at taking out mobs if you are surrounded. However, the mode is not effective at dealing with bosses like other enemy Manglers and Abominations.
So make sure you are reading the situation correctly before transforming into a Mangler in Black Ops 6.
