Roblox’s Blue Lock Rivals recently buffed its AI based goalkeepers by a fair margin, making playing the game a lot more difficult. Compared to prior versions, where the goalkeeper basically did nothing to obstruct your progress, the new change might come as a rude awakening for most players.
It takes a bit of practice, but it definitely is possible to score a goal against the AI. You can find a summary of the tactics employed in the section below.
How to easily score against AI goalkeepers in Blue Lock Rivals

Interestingly, it would appear that the AI has been ‘buffed’ to track your movement in Blue Lock Rivals. Unlike prior patches, players will have to time their attacks accordingly and take the goalkeeper’s movement into mind – instead of mindlessly spamming a kick when near the goal post.
The best way to deal with buffed AI members of the opposite team is wait until you get really close to the goalkeeper. Once you are within shooting distance, (approximately 5 yards away from the penalty box) aim your kick and release to hopefully score a goal that outmaneuvers the goalkeeper.
Try entering the penalty box before landing a kick, and aim for the top right or top left corners instead.
Additionally, it is also recommended to try and ‘confuse’ the AI by targeting the opposite corner of the goal you are facing towards. For example, if you enter through the right side, try targeting the upper left corner of the goal post, and vice versa.
Other important things to keep in mind include:
- Try to make the goalkeeper spend more time trying to close the gap towards you.
- Try aiming for a lower height when aiming for the goal, especially if you are near the penalty box.
- Practice makes perfect, keep trying and reviewing your strategy until you ultimately succeed.
