How to easily get Barioth and its OP Sand mutation in Stories 3

The endangered Barioth and its Sand mutation are two pretty powerful monsties that you will be able to get your hands on as soon as you reach Serathis in Stories 3. This is the fourth region in the game, and to unlock a Barioth egg, you will need to repel the final invasive monster of the game, which is a Khezu.

The repel condition is quite different from the others that precede it, but once you do manage to chase it off, you will finally gain access to the ice-breathing smilodon and its sand mutation.

Now, to unlock Barioth, you will first need to have made it far enough into the story that you have access to Serathis. Once there, you will need to head to the Lookout Point: Glacial Caps Catavanstand and platform your way to the northeast part of this subregion.

If you fall into the water, try again from the fast travel point, and you will eventually come upon an opening.

Make sure to head there at night, and you will find the Invasive Khezu there waiting for you.

So you can go ahead and either collect all of the clues or just start the encounter right away.

The encounter is very unique compared to the previous Invasive Monsters, as the Khezu comes with a new move called Wyvernsoul Eater. This move damages you, and then it heals itself to reset the progress of the fight.

Now, the repel condition for this is to stop the attack from hitting your party multiple times in a row. And the best way to do this is to go for a double attack because this move is usually a head-to-head attack.

You will have to do it about five times throughout the fight to be able to meet the condition.

Your companions will usually do a double attack against it if they are targeted, and if you or your monstie is the one targeted, then you will have to perform the double attack instead.

The Invasive move is a Technical attack when Khezu is in a normal state, so you will need to do a Power double attack at this time. However, in the Invading state, the attack becomes a Power type, which you will need to counter with a Speed double attack.

But do keep in mind that the Invasive Khezu will perform big AoE moves in the middle of these attacks, which will inflict your party with paralysis. Being inflicted will prevent you from performing these double attacks when required.

So you will need to negate this status effect during the fight. Now, two of the best ways of doing that are to either use a Hunting Horn that has the ability to negate this ailment, or use Gaul in the party who will use an item on the second turn to negate all paralysis effects on your party.

Once you are able to stop the Khezu from landing the Wyvernsoul Eater four times, you will get a Learning Complete pop-up on the screen. Following this will be a targeted skill, which will be a Wyvernsoul Eater once again, but you will not be able to cancel it with a double attack.

The only way to negate this attack will be through a Kinship attack. As the Khezu already gives you enough chances to pull off double attacks, you are likely going to have a full Kinship Meter.

So perform the Kinship attack, and you will have successfully repelled it after a short animation.

The endangered den will then spawn, and you will finally get your hands on a Barioth Egg.

How to get Sand Barioth in Stories 3

Sand Barioth Stories 3

Getting Sand Barioth is very easy, and you will unlock the mutation by taking the ecosystem rank of a Barioth to A in any region.

Now, if you are looking to min-max this monster, then it’s better to choose the desert or the third region of the game, which is Tarkuan. While the base Barioth will not be too happy about it, the Sand Barioth will thrive in this ecosystem, and getting its ecosystem rank all the way to S will unlock some very potent skills.

Sand Barioth is also a Technical monstie but comes with no elements. It has a Desert Spray move that has a chance of inflicting Darkness, along with the Gale Trap ability, which deals non-elemental damage to the enemy while setting down a trap that deals non-elemental damage to them.

This move has one of the best damage-over-time effects in the game.
