Monster Hunter Wilds lets players customize their Hunter and Palicos to their heart’s content – but only at the start of the game. Past the introductory sequence however, players will be required to use Character Edit Vouchers in order to make any further changes.
More on these vouchers and how to obtain them in the RPG below.
How to get more Character Edit Vouchers in Monster Hunter Wilds

Prior to the game’s official worldwide launch, players had unlimited access to Character and Palico Edit Vouchers, during the duration of both Open Beta Tests. This is significant since these characters can be carried over to the full retail version of the game.
However, there is little to no information regarding how character and Palico edits will be done post launch. Capcom is very likely to release these vouchers as a paid DLC, forcing players to purchase edit coupons along the way.
As such, it is recommended that you create your Hunter with the necessary stats and appearance at the start of the game, and stick to it.
Character Vouchers can access more edit options
Unlike the Change Appearance menu, Character Edit Vouchers let you edit a lot more of the player character, including the following:
- Voice Type
- Skin
- Eyes
- Nose
- Contour
- Body
- Gender
- Age
- Hairstyle
- Eyebrows
- Eyelashes
- Eyes
- Mouth
- Beard
- Makeup
- Voice Pitch
- Demeanor
- Undergarments
Character Edits let you create a character from scratch, while Change Appearance is more of a way to alter the cosmetic look of your character. This option is available under the Appearance Settings of the game, and is not locked to Vouchers of any kind.
That being said, most players would find the Change Appearance option to be more than enough for their tastes – with the character edits being adding in a layer of customization that could be rather unnecessary,
Either way, the fact that it is locked behind a Voucher does seem kind of pointless.
