With the 3.25 Settlers of Kalguur update, Path of Exile has received a lot of new resources like Wheat which plays a key role in the Kingsmarch Settlement league mechanic. You will be able to obtain and use this resource to make trade routes that tie into other quest lines in the RPG.
Here is a guide on how you will be able to get and use Wheat in the Path of Exiles Settlers of Kalguur update.
How to farm Wheat in Path of Exile

To obtain Wheat in Path of Exile you will be able to grow the resource yourself in the Kingsmarch Settlement. However, you will need to build a Farm first.
You will be able to make a Farm by following these steps:
- Make your way to the Kingsmarch Settlement and then head into Town Hall. Here click on “Town Improvements” and then upgrade the settlement to Rank 2. It will cost you 15 Gold and 5 Orichalcum. These mining resources are not that hard to come by.
- After you take settlement rank to 2, head to Sonja who is located to the northwest of Kingsmarch, and then interact with the NPC to unlock the Farm. It will take 50 Gold to make it and at Rank 1 you will have access to two plots.
- Interact with the plots to change their farming resource to Wheat and then make your way back into Town Hall to speak to Raulf and hire Farmers who will harvest your crops.
- Recruit the Farmers and then put them to work on your Wheat farm. After a period of in-game time passes you will obtain your Wheat.
Note: You will need to pay wages to your Farmers so make sure to talk to Johan in Town Hall to add sufficient gold to the Treasury. You will not be able to recruit Farmers and harvest wheat if you lack this key resource.
How to use Wheat in Path of Exile
Wheat is one of the many resources that will let you conduct specific trade routes in Path of Exile 3.25. One of the earlier routes leading into Riben Fell has Wheat as one of the required resources.
So when you give 16 units of Wheat to the settlement you will gain +40% favor with them. This will determine the rewards that you receive from the trade route.
You will eventually need to use resources to make more resources and upgrade your Farm’s rank to open more trade routes.
