Marvel Rivals Season 1 is live, bringing with it exciting new content additions and in-game events – including the inclusion of an ongoing Discord event. The event rewards players with a limited time Jeff The Land Shark Avatar, which fits rather nicely with the overall UI.

How to unlock Jeff The Land Shark avatar decoration on Discord
To unlock this particular avatar, you will have to make sure to have Discord open while you play Marvel RIvals. As long as you register 15 minutes of game time while using Discord, you should be automatically eligible for the avatar.
How long will the event last?
The Marvel Rivals Season 1 Discord quest will be available between January 10, 2025 (10 AM PST) to January 16, 2025 (4:59 AM PST). The avatar will not be available to grab after the event ends, so make sure to participate in the event and grab it at your earliest.
You can also choose to join the official Marvel Rivals Discord server, linked here by means of an official invite.
Can you participate in the Discord event if you are on console?
In short, yes. You can still play Marvel Rivals on your PlayStation 5 and/or Xbox Series X/S console and participate in the event. Just make sure to have Discord linked to your console before you start playing, or those minutes won’t count.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure Discord has the necessary permissions before you start playing Marvel Rivals. If the application cannot detect the game, it likely won’t count toward the event.
- Additionally, make sure Discord is actually running in the background before you start a match. You can always Alt-Tab out of the game to check.
- Lastly, make sure you are logged into Discord using the correct profile.
