Monster Hunter Wilds is almost here, and it brings with it much needed refinements and improvements over the classic Monster Hunter formula. Naturally, with a release this huge, players might be curious as to when the game’s preload would begin.
Thankfully, Capcom have shared enough information for players to prepare ahead of time, and load the game’s files onto their PCs and consoles, saving time that would be otherwise wasted on the download. More on the same below.
Monster Hunter Wilds preload date and time for all regions and platforms
The preload for Monster Hunter Wilds begins 48 hours ahead of the game’s official launch. Naturally, this will vary from time zone to time zone (and even platform to platform – depending if you are on PC or console).
The preload should be active starting February 25, 2025.
How to preload Monster Hunter Wilds on PC (Steam)
- Make sure you have purchased the game before proceeding further.
- Head on over to your Steam Library and find the page for Monster Hunter Wilds.
- Click on the game’s banner, and hit the preload/install button.
- Choose your storage device, and accept the EULA.
- The preload should begin downloading shortly.
How to preload Monster Hunter Wilds on PS5
- Make sure to purchase the game from the PlayStation Store before proceeding further.
- Head over to your game library (far left side of the Home screen UI).
- Select Monster Hunter Wilds.
- There should be an option to preload the game available now.
- Hit the download button to begin preloading.
How to preload Monster Hunter Wilds on Xbox Series X/S
- Buy Monster Hunter Wilds for Xbox using the requisite store.
- Once purchased, head on over to the Xbox Store.
- Search for Monster Hunter Wilds.
- Open up the game page, and you should now see an option for preloading the game.
- Hit the download button and wait until it finishes.
Again, keep in mind that the preload goes live on February 25, 2025 – depending on your region.
