How to reduce disease in Frostpunk 2

Disease is something that you need to tackle while maintaining your post-apocalyptic city in Frostpunk 2. There are a lot of reasons why diseases occur in the game, and as a Steward, your job is to keep all ailments in check.

If your citizens are sick, and you fail to address the issue, crime rates will increase, most factions in your city will turn against you and eventually your city will fall.

So, here’s how you can reduce disease in Frostpunk 2 and the possible causes behind them.

How to control Disease in Frostpunk 2

There are many ways to reduce Disease in Frostpunk 2, but the easiest way is by constructing Hospitals in Housing Districts and Pharmaceutical Testing Labs in Industrial Districts.

You’ll find both these options under the Society tab in the Idea Tree. You’ll also have the option to conduct Experimental Treatment on your citizens. While these will reduce the Disease rating in your city, there’s a chance that you’ll have a high casualty rating, which might cause the factions to turn on you.

You can also use the Emergency Medical Hub, to deal with the rising Disease levels in your city. However, it’s worth remembering that this will cost you 00 Workforce requirement, 20 Heat Demand, and 25 Materials Demand apart from the construction cost.

Finally, be sure to pass some laws with respect to your workforce and funerals to ensure that the Disease levels in your city remain in check.

What causes Disease in Frostpunk 2?

Your citizens will fall sick if your city does not have enough heat generation sources available. While this is the main reason, other reasons include pollution from the Industrial District and Hunger from lack of food can also cause Disease.

Finally, if you don’t have laws, there’s an ever higher chance that your citizens fall sick, which will eventually lead to rising tensions in your city in Frostpunk 2.
