Stun is one of the few important keywords that you will come across in Path of Exile 2. While not exactly an ailment, stun is a status effect that you apply to your enemy through your attacks.
There are two basic types of stuns that you will come across in the game, and both of them are tied to your ability to deal damage to the enemy.
So, here’s you you can stun enemies easily in Path of Exile 2.
How to apply stun on your enemies in Path of Exile 2
Whenever you damage an enemy in Path of Exile 2, you have a small chance of stunning them through your attacks.
There are two types of stuns that you will come across in the game, namely:
- Regular stun
- Heavy stun
The regular stun can come from your regular attacks, and when an enemy is stunned, they will be staggered for a short time.

This will stagger the enemy and prevent it from attacking you for a very short period of time. Having a high accuracy will allow you to easily stun your enemies with each attack.
The heavy stun however, is applicable for bosses or elite enemies that you will encounter in the game. Whenever you hit an enemy, you’ll see a small bar build up below the boss’ health.
Once this bar fills up completely, the boss will be staggered and will be down for a few seconds allowing you to unleash a barrage of attacks on the enemy in Path of Exile 2.
There are a lot of passives in the skill tree that will allow you to build the amount of heavy stagger that you apply on the enemy.
The more passives you invest into, the quickly you’ll end up staggering the enemy. Finally, it’s also worth noting that magic damage can be used to stagger bosses quicker than regular physical damage in Path of Exile 2.
