How to trade in Path of Exile 2

Trading is an important aspect of Path of Exile 2. While it does eliminate the need for grinding your desired items by a significant amount, it can be quite complicated, especially for the uninitiated.

After all, Path of Exile 2 allows for trading between individual players – which can be overwhelming given the sheer number of options available.

You can find a detailed guide on how trading works in the game, listed below.

How to trade items in Path of Exile 2

Trading with someone in the same instance

  • Head over to the other player.
  • Right click on their character, and select the Trade option.

The only way to access this particular route for trading is by having both players in the same instance and town at a given time.

Trading via direct messages

  • Right click on the user’s name.
  • Select the Invite To Party option, and wait for them to accept the request.
  • Teleport to the other player’s location.
  • Right click on the player’s character to select the Trade option, and continue as you see fit.

Using the official trading board

  • Head to the official trading board URL. Make sure to sign in using your PoE account.
  • Search for your item of choice, and press the Direct Whisper button (assuming they have the game open).
  • If the user is not online, you can simply copy their UID from the board and send them a Whisper to accomplish the same.
  • To actually complete the transaction, you will have to meet that person in-game and initiate the Trade manually.
