Also known as transmogrification, transmogs allow players to change the appearance of equipped outfits and armor in a game. Assassin’s Creed Shadows also thankfully includes this option as well, which is unlocked fairly early on in the game’s rather long campaign.
However, unlocking the ability to transmog in Shadows does require you to complete a very specific quest – more on which can be found detailed below.
How to easily transmog in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To transmog in Shadows, players will firstly need to unlock a Hideout. Once within the Hideout, recruit the Blacksmith, and build your very own Forge. This should now allow you to access the Customize menu.
How to unlock the Blacksmith and Forge in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
- To recruit the Blacksmith, you must complete the ‘Way of the Blacksmith’ quest first.
- This is a part of ‘The League’ quests, and can be accessed using your quest counter.
- Also known as Heiji, the Blacksmith can be located either within Sakai, east of the Port of Sakai or in south western Izumi Settsu.
- Once within the marked region, scale up the rooftops on the west section of the street.
- Heiji can be found here, surrounded by a few thugs in a small courtyard.
- Head to the location and eliminate the enemies, and speak to Heiji – who will now join your cause.
- Next, you will be tasked with building a Forge.
- To build the Forge, gather 40 Crops, 30 Wood and 10 Minerals.
- Once gathered, head back to Tomiko’s Homestead, and bring up the Build menu.
- You can now find the option to build a Forge. Select it, and you should now have complete access to the gear upgrade/dismantle/transmog menu.
- Simply visit Heiji to adjust your gear.
The Customize menu can be accessed via the Inventory tab of your main menu. You can now freely tweak your equipment’s appearance without affecting their stats. Alternatively, it is also possible to entirely hide gear using the Hide Gear option and still retain its stats.
