Monster Hunter Wilds, like all the previous iterations in the franchise, allows you to go on solo hunts or team up with your friends online. This time around, you also get the chance to summon Support Hunters (AI NPCs) to aid you in battle.
As the monsters you face get tankier and more ruthless, you’d want to ensure seamless communication between your squad as every step counts.
On that note, here’s a rundown of how you can use the voice chat feature in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to enable voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds

Turning on voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds is a different process based on the platform you’re playing on. We’ll go about the steps for each below:
PC
On PC, follow these steps to turn on voice chat:
- Go to the Systems tab in the menu.
- Select Options > Audio Tab.
- Scroll down to find Voice Chat.
- You’ll get three options here:
- Turn Voice Chat On. From this point onward, everyone in your team will be able to listen to you.
- Turn Voice Chat Off. Other players in your team won’t be able to listen to you. You’ll have to rely on texts for communication.
- Push-to-talk: When you press a designated key (check controls), players in your team will be able to listen to you.
Consoles
On PlayStation and Xbox, you can use the in-built console voice chat features.
Xbox players can connect their Xbox Chat Headsets to activate voice chat. Make sure to create a party by pressing the Xbox button on your controller and going to Parties & chats. You can also use the Xbox app on PC and mobile to set up a party.
The PlayStation app, similarly, runs on mobile and allows you to create parties with voice chat enabled. Of course, you’ll have to ensure that the people you’re playing with are your PSN friends.
Discord
Last, but not least, you can use voice chat in Monster Hunter Wilds through Discord. Simply download the app on your platform (PC, PlayStation, and Xbox) and befriend the people you want to play with. Create a server on the app and ask all members to join the voice channel.
Link Party & friends in Monster Hunter Wilds
If you join a Link Party in Monster Hunter Wilds, the game automatically places you in an exclusive voice chat with the members.
To create a Link Party, you have to go to the Communications tab in the game and select Invite A Friend. Select your platform from the list and share the generated QR code on mobile and console.
To befriend people in your party, go to Menu > Communication > Link Party > View Link Members > Hunter Names > Send Friend Request. The player who receives the friend request has to go to Menu > Communication > Invite Notification List.

If you want to add friends that play on a different platform, you’ll require a Hunter ID which can be found in Menu > Info > Hunter Profile. Or, you can go to Menu > Communication > Player List > Link Members.
Through a Hunter ID, you can go to Menu > Communication > Invite Notification List to send friend requests.
Once both sides complete these steps, their names will appear on the Hunter Friends list in-game, making teaming up in the future easy.
How to mute players in Monster Hunter Wilds voice chat
To mute a player in Monster Hunter Wilds, go to Menu > Communication > Voice Chat. A list of players in your party will appear and through this list, you can carry out a wide range of functions, including muting them.
We hope that solves all your doubts regarding the voice chat feature in Monster Hunter Wilds.
