Roblox boasts of a lot of experiences that you can participate in, but it’s claimed that 99 Nights in a Forest is based on a true story.
It’s difficult to say if the game is actually based on a true story, but with a little bit of digging we figured out that it’s not based on any true story. However, it does seem to be inspired by one.
The developers behind this Roblox experience have claimed that this game indeed is based on a true story, but it’s actually based on two different stories. One of them, as we mentioned above is real, while the other one is purely a matter of fiction.
What Stories Inspire 99 Nights in a Forest?
The two stories that inspire 99 Nights in a Forest are:
- The Forest (the video game)
- A story about four children surviving in the Amazon rainforest following a plane crash.
While most of you might know about the former, it’s the latter which piques more interest. As a refresher, The Forest is a story about a father and a son who crash in a forest and are forced to survive.
The son is kidnapped, and is sacrificed by a scientist for a personal reason. The father is presented with a similar choice much later in the game. I won’t go into further details because it’s a spoiler, if you haven’t tried the game yet.
The latter, however, is a real story where four children survived in the Amazon forest after a plane crash for around 40 days. When they were found by the search party, the children aged 11 months, 4 years, 9 years, and 13 years, were severely malnourished, but didn’t sustain any major injuries.
While those are the stories 99 Nights in a Forest is inspired from, it’s not based on a true story. You can always replicate these stories in the game at your convenience, but that’s about it.
