With the massive changes to itemization in League of Legends season 14, the best Anivia build for Mid Lane and Support has seen significant adjustments. The Cryopheonix remains one of the hardest champions to master in the MOBA, however, once you do start putting some hours into her, Anivia can be incredibly rewarding, as she is indeed a powerhouse when it comes to teamfights.
With her W and R, Anivia is considered to be an incredibly potent zoner. She can create choke points in the jungle, allowing your team to have an advantage when pushing for a neutral objective.
The new AP items have provided her with a lot of quality-of-life, and many are once again finding her relevant in the new League of Legends Mid Lane as well as the Support meta.

Anivia Mid lane Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
- Anivia has one of the best tools for zoning in Riot’s MOBA. Her W and R when used correctly, will allow her to control the battlefield and help her team get significant advantages in late-game fights and skirmishes.
- He scales really well the longer the game goes, and once her build is online, it can be incredibly difficult to take her down. Her clear speed also gets better, and she can shut down even a Baron-buffed siege in an instant.
- Once most of her core items are done, Anivia will be able to one-shot most enemy carries. Her Q into E or R into will let her chunk out the tanks of enemies, allowing her to be a good peeler for the rest of her team.
- Anivia’s W, Crystalize, can make choke points on the map. This is especially useful in the later stages of the game when your team is looking to secure a Drake or the Baron Nashor.
Cons:
- Anivia has an incredibly weak in the early game. She struggles quite a bit to farm under the tower and CS-ing takes a bit of practice to get used to before her Tear and Seraph’s Embrace is fully stacked.
- Anivia’s lack of mobility also makes her quite susceptible to ganks in the early game. While her Passive can keep her safe if she pops her health drops to 0 under the tower, she is immobile in her egg state and can be killed before the passive activates if she is isolated.
- The Cryophoenix is also very hard to master. She has a very high skill ceiling and it can seem easier to just give up on mastering her.
- Anivia struggles against high-mobility champions as well. She does not have a point-and-click CC ability in her kit and she will often have to predict where her enemy will go next when using her Q.
How to play Anivia: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14

Early Game
- As Anivia is incredibly mana-hungry, you will not have many tools to harass the enemy during the laning phae. However, do try to weave in auto-attacks, and hit them with your Q when they go for a last hit on minions.
- If your Q hits, follow it up with Frostbite which will then do double the damage as the enemy is Chilled. This will allow you to get a quick burst of damage in, when coupled with Electrocute.
- Learn how to farm under the tower. Anivia will often be pushed in, hence learn to last hit with her till the jungler on your team comes to relieve some of the pressure.
Mid Game
- Once Anivia starts getting her Tear stacked, working towards the Seraph’s Embrace, look to roam with your jungler and help them secure Voidgrubs and the Rift Herald.
- Use your W to create choke points and make it difficult for the enemy to contest the objective. Use your R to zone them off as well, however, do keep an eye on the mana bar, as having Glacial Storm active for long will drain it.
- Use Crystalline in conjunction with Glacial Storm. You can trap enemies with the wall and your R will expand to start chipping away at them as they try to escape. As the radius of the storm reaches maximum growth, it will freeze the enemy allowing you to get double the damage on Frostbite.
Late Game
- During the late game try to catch out enemies with Crystalize. How you use the ability will determine which way the fight will go, and a well-placed wall can turn the tide in your favor.
- Anivia should be able to peel enemies extremely well now. So don’t be afraid to hit tanks with your combos and chip at their health to make it harder for them to engage onto your team.

Anivia Support Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
- Comes with a good deal of zone control in the bot lane. Her walls will be able to set up good gank situations for the Jungler.
- She can peel rather well, and as she will be maxing her Q first in the support role, she can concentrate on using it to harass the enemy support and carry.
- She is hard to kill early on because of her passive and her egg state can be used to bait the enemy in if your Jungler is on the way.
Cons:
- Lack of mobility will often make her a mad match-up for supports like Blitzcrank, Thresh, and Nautilus.
- Landing her Q into E combo can be hard on mobile ADCs like Kalista, Samira, and Ezreal.
- Anivia also has bad vision control which can adversely affect her team in the later stages of the game.
