League of Legends best Sivir build guide: Itemization, Counters, Strategy, and more

With the recent Crit item changes Sivir has been enjoying a fair bit of popularity in League of Legends 14.11 with her best build paths and item options. The hyper-carry has always been a reliable pick irrespective of the meta. Hence, it’s not too surprising to see her be a priority ADC in pro-play and solo queue.

Sivir is one of the easier Bot Lane carries to pick up in League of Legends. Her best build paths are often linear, and while you can experiment around with her items, her core playstyle remains the same.

The Battle Mistress is incredibly rewarding the later a game goes. She pairs well with most team comps and can be blind-picked into almost any match-up. Sivir is one of the more reliable ADCs to consistently climb the tranked ladder with.

Sivir Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14

Pros:

  • Sivir is a hyper-carry who keeps growing more powerful the later a game goes in Riot’s MOBA. She scales incredibly well into the Late Game and has a good teamfight presence. If you can position her well around a skirmish, she will be able to take over any skirmish.
  • Sivir is pretty easy to pick up and her best build paths are often linear. She heavily relies on attack speed and Crit, so you primarily go for items that grant her both. While there is slight room for versatility, that is primarily for providing her with more sustain tools so that she can survive longer in a fight.
  • Sivir’s Spell Shield is an amazing anti-CC tool if you can time it well. It will negate an engage on her, and she will be able to completely deny a hook from the enemy Bot Lane if you press the E button right before the ability lands. This makes her a great pick against Supports like Blitzcrank, Thresh, and Morgana

Cons:

  • Sivir is very item-reliant, and she will not have any impact during a teamfight if she does not have some of her core items under her belt. She does not do well from behind, and you will constantly need your support’s help in the Early and Mid Game to stay relevant in Gold and XP.
  • Apart from her Spell Shield, Sivir does not have many disengage or escape tools at her disposal. If her E is on cooldown, she can very easily be engaged on and bursted down. As she is squishy, she can be melted down if she is caught out by the enemy champions.
  • Sivir is also pretty bad into tanks. This is primarily because of the limited amount of attack range she has at her disposal. Compared to some of the other meta ADCs, Sivir is mid-ranged, which makes her play a bit up close to the enemy team. This makes her susceptible to getting caught out by the enemy CC.

How to play Sivir: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14

Sivir Gameplay Guide

Early Game:

  • Like most hyper-carries, Sivir’s Early Game is pretty weak in League of Legends. She needs a lot of farm, Gold, and XP to stay relevant in the game, and it takes her a while to ramp up. Hence, at this stage of the game, make sure to CS every minion and take down turret plates to get some early advantages.
  • Don’t puh up the lane if you are not aware of the enemy Jungler’s positioning. While her Spell Shield can help negate some of the engage, it’s not a well-rounded tool for keeping her alive for long. Sivir is squishy and can be focused on very easily.
  • If you are playing Bot Lane with a pre-made duo, make sure your partner picks an enchanter Support. Enchanters like Milio, Lulu, Soraka, and Nami, will help Sivir have an easier time in lane irrespective of the matchup you are up against. They will also help you have a better time scaling into the late game.

Mid Game:

  • The Mid Game is when Sivir starts coming online. Once she gets a few crit items under her belt, she will have more agency around a skirmish, however, her DPS output is still going to be a bit low. So choose your fights carefully, and look to help your team when they are grouped up around a Neutral Objective.
  • Rotate to the Mid Lane at this stage of the game and look to gain priority there. Keep farming and look to complete your core build as early as possible. Continue to aim for Tower Plates and take down objectives around the map.
  • Sivir’s On the Hunt is a great teamfighting tool that affects all the allies around her. So use it during a skirmish to help out the rest of the team. Positioning is key with her. So go in aggressively only when you know that the enemy team is out of their CC tools.

Late Game:

  • Sivir starts hitting like a truck in the Late Game, especially if you have her best build made and core items done. She can shred through the enemy frontline and take over the teamfight, if she is given enough room. Sivir’s DPS output is very consistent, so feel free to “stand and deliver” when the opportunity presents itself.
  • Positioning will continue to be important with her. So make sure you are kiting around a skirmish to avoid as much of the enemy engage as possible. It might take a fair bit of practice for you to get used to where you will need to stand in a fight to make the most of her kit.
  • Always look to secure Neutral Objectives with the rest of your team. Sivir can shred through the Baron and Elder Drake at this stage of the game. She will make it quite easy to take down neutral objectives while poking the enemy out of the pit with her Boomerang Blade and Ricochet.
