League of Legends Arena 2025 release date, map updates, new Progression System, and more

League of Legends Arena 2025 will be going live early next month, and there is a slew of changes that the temporary game mode will be receiving this season. Along with updated map features, Arena will also be receiving a new Guests of Honor mechanic along with a tweaked Progression System.

League of Legends Arena 2025 release date

League of Legends Arena 2025 will be releasing on March 5, 2025, and will be a part of the 25.S1.5 (15.5) patch update. The Arena this time will be themed around Noxus, and will offer a fresh and immersive experience for both casual and competitive players.

When is League of Legends Arena 2025 ending?

League of Legends Arena 2025 will run till April 30, 2025, till patch 25.S1.9 (15.9). It will be live for around 2 months, but Riot can choose to extend the period based on community feedback and how popular the mode gets.

All new Map Updates in League of Legends Arena 2025

Reckoner Arena is a brand new map that will be joining the lineup when Arena returns in 2025. The map will feature destructible pillars which will collapse when they take enough damage.

Collapsing pillars do AoE damage and are capable of changing the terrain mid-game, allowing for more strategies.

Moreover, after a lot of player feedback, Riot Games is finally making changes to the Koi Pond map. They will be introducing “The Ring” feature to it, which will introduce new walkable perimeters that will connect the ponds.

This along with the removal of Blast Cones will reduce the total number of unfair situations that Arena can have for certain duos.

New Guests of Honor system in Arena 2025

Apart from the map, Arena will also be receiving a new Guest of Honor system which will replace Cameos. This mechanic will make some famous Noxian champions appear during event rounds, and players will then need to vote for which Guest of Honor will introduce a new rule that will remain active for the rest of the game.

The Arena Progressio has been reworked in 2025 with the introduction of the Arena Fame System which will help players have a more rewarding experience with the temporary game mode. Fame will now be the new primary measure of progress and will be earned based on the placement that you achieve in each game.

Apart from winning games, you will also be able to increase the amount of Fame you get per game by completing unique missions that each champion comes with. By acquiring more Fame you will be able to unlock Fame milestones and get your hands on new augments like Overflow and Transmute: Chaos, as well as Matchup Intro upgrades which will let you make the pre-fight introductions even more flashy,

Apart from Fame Progression Arena will also help towards Champion Mastery progression and will also tie in with the season 2025 battle pass.

LoL Arena 2025 Champion Select Enhancements

Champion Select will also see some enhancements in Arena 2025. Here are two features that it will be receiving:

1) Crowd Favorites

This feature will highlight five champions during selection. This will then allow you to pick champions who will receive a specific bonus Stat Anvil.

2) Bravery Mode

If you are looking to take a bigger risk and earn more fame, the Bravery Mode will provide you with a random champion when the match starts. If you take on this mode you will receive more Fame per match and unique missions, a Stat Anvil, and two rerolls.
