To get the strongest and most efficient workers in Palworld, you will need to know the best breeding combinations. While hatching eggs that you find in the wild will let you obtain some great Pals, it’s unlikely that they will come with favorable stats, skills, and suitabilities.
This is where Pal breeding comes in as it will let you guarantee the transfer of skills and attributes from parent to offspring. This is why breeding is one of the more important core mechanics in Palworld that will let you have the best Pals in the game.
However, breeding the best fighters and workers is easier said than done. The feature does come with a few nuances which you will need to get used to.
Below are some advanced tips and tricks on how to breed Pals and the best breeding combinations in Palworld.

How to breed Pals in Palworld
To be able to start breeding your Pals in Palworld, there are a few things you will be required to do first:
- Build a Breeding Farm
- Bake a Cake
Your Pals will not mate with each other and produce an egg if you do not have these two requisites met.
1) Build a Breeding Farm

To build a Breeding Farm, you will first be required to unlock its research by reaching Technology Tier 19. It will take 2 Technology Points after you reach the rank, and once you have it, you will need the following materials to build it:
- 100x Wood
- 20x Stone
- 50x Fibre
Once you have the Breeding Farm made, you will have to move on to the next step which is to bake a Cake.
2) Bake a Cake
To Bake a Cake your first requirement will be to make a Cooking Pot. This can be unlocked and crafted at Research Level 17. Then you will have to make a Mill and a Wheat plantation both of which can be unlocked by level 15.
The Wheat plantation will provide you with Wheat, and then the Wheat can be made into flour at the Mill. Flour is one of the core ingredients in making Cake.
Once you have this set up going, you can then bake a Cake using the Cooking Pot. These are the ingredients that you will need:
- Five flour
- Eight red berries
- Seven milk
- Eight eggs
- Two honey
You get Flour from the Mill, while the rest can be acquired from the wild by taking down Pals. However, a much better alternative is to set up a system that will let you farm these materials at your base.
For berries, you can have a Berry Farm going. As for Milk, eggs, and honey, you can build a Ranch and assign the following Pals there:
- Chickipee (Egg)
- Mozzarina (Milk)
- Beegarde (Honey)
All these Pals can be very easily caught in the wild, so do remember to assign them to the ranch once you do get them.
Additionally, don’t forget to build a Cooler. Cakes don’t last long once made, and having a Cooler Box assisted by a Pengullet or Chillet will let you extend how long the Cake will last once made. Just make sure that the Cake is not directly going into the Feedbox once made. You might have to manually pick them up and store them in the Cooler Box.

Breeding your Pals
Once you have the Breeding Farm made and Cake production going, it now time to start the breeding process. To breed Pals in Palworld you will simply need to pick up the two parent Pals of the opposing sexes and place them in the farm.
Make sure that you have atleast one Cake in the Breeding Farm box, and a progress wheel will automatically start to fill up. Once the wheel is completed, an egg will be produced. Collect it, and put it in an Incubator to help it hatch.
The wheel will not progress if Cake is missing from the box. As Cake takes significantly longer to make than the entire breeding process, make sure you have a good stock of it in the Cooler.
How to pick the best Pals for breeding in Palworld
As mentioned, there are a few nuances to the breeding process that you will need to get familiar with. When picking the parent Pals, you will first need to determine the male and the female. You can do this by inspecting the Pal and then spotting the gender symbol which is beside their name. Pals of the same gender will not produce an egg even if you throw them into the farm and give them a ton of Cake.
Once the genders are set, you will then need to see if the chosen Pals have the traits of Lucky, Alpha, or a high rarity. While the presence of these traits is not necessary, the eggs that they produce are often huge, providing you with better offspring.
An additional thing to keep in mind when breeding Pals is strong Passive skills, and what Work Suitabilities you want to pass down to the offspring. You will ideally want to breed Pals with strong Passives to make Pals who will be able to get the Passives of both their parents.
This creates the perfect fighter and the perfect worker. They will help you create some of the best bases that specialize in certain things, like Ore and Ingot making.
Note: To get the best breeding combinations in Palworld, don’t pick parents who have the same passive skills. If you have the perfect combination of four skills, make sure that one parent has two of them and the other parent has the remaining two. This will provide you with the best results.
