What are Weapon Set Points in Path of Exile 2 and how does it work?
Weapon Skill Points are used in conjunction with regular Passive Skill points in PoE 2. Where the latter is always active you use the former as branching paths to create different Passive Skill loadouts.
This comes in handy when you swap between weapons. As you can equip two weapons in Path of Exile 2, you will be able to create a loadout for each. So when you are rotating between them, you will be activating the Weapon Skill Points that you have allocated to the one that you have swapped in.
It’s a pretty complicated system to grasp at first, but once you start unlocking the various nodes, you will have an easier time visualizing the sort of build that you are looking to make.
One good way of using Weapon Skill Points is to, use your Passive Skills and then build a long branch by activating multiple Notable nodes. Then invest your Weapon Skill Points into these clusters to enhance the potential of specific weapons.
So now when you are swapping between weapons you will be automatically activating and de-activating the Weapon Set Skills. This gives you room for a lot of flexibility for each weapon, letting you min-max each set to your heart’s content.
How to allocate Weapon Set Points in PoE 2
To allocate Weapon Set Points in Path of Exile 2, you will need to make your way into the Passive Skill Tree menu. Here you will find a small box in the top-right corner that will have the following options:
- I Weapon Set
- II Weapon Set
So when you get Weapon Set Points, you will be able to select either of the options to allocate them. Moreover, you will not be required to share the points between the two builds. If you have 2x Weapon Set Points, both the sets will access to 2 Passive Skill Points.
Finally, when selecting a set, you can allocate Weapon Set Points in the same way as you would slot Passive Skill Points. However, there is a limited number of Weapon Set Points that you can spend on each Set. You will see the number represented in brackets next to the name.

How to farm Weapon Set Points in Path of Exile 2
You will be able to get more Weapon Set Points by farming the Book of Specialization in Path of Exile 2. It’s a consumable item which will grant you 2x Weapon Set points when used. The only way of obtaining it, however, is to kill boosses or complete specific quests.
Main story bosses as well as optional bosses have a chance of dropping Book of Specialization, however, the RnG is more favorable when it comes to the main story bosses.
