Pokemon TCG Pocket Celestial Guardians expansion decoded: Rare candy, Rayquaza EX, more

A new expansion is always good news in Pokemon TCG Pocket because it means new packs, new rare cards, and Wonder Pick events! Because the game will also be celebrating its half-year anniversary with the Celestial Guardians expansion, the hype is over the the roof this time around.

There’s a ton of new exciting content coming to the game in the upcoming weeks. Below, we’ve explained everything you need to know to be prepared for the next update, including the new Celestial Guardians pack which features cards like Rare Candy and Rayquaza EX.



When is the next Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion releasing?

The next Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion called Celestial Guardians will be released on April 30, 2025, at 6:00 AM UTC. It will feature two booster packs tagged A3, and as usual, you can click on these packs to get a rundown of their offering rates.

The developers, till now, have only released a trailer for the Celestial Guardians pack. While there’s no way to find an elaborate list of all the upcoming cards, the community has found a bunch of good ones by pausing through animations.

Like Dialga and Palkia’s packs, Lunala and Solgaleo will have their separate packs in the Celestial Guardians expansion. The cards confirmed so far include:

While we couldn’t figure out their abilities, the Celestial Guardians packs will also feature Brionne, Torracat, and Datrix.

How to get free Rayquqza EX in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Rayquaza EX and other free rewards available in Celestial Guardians expansion in Pokemon TCG Pocket

Starting April 30, 2025, at 6:00 AM UTC, two new events will be live in Pokemon TCG Pocket and one of them will hand out the Rayquaza EX card as a free reward. These events include:

  • Promo Card Battles will be live until May 12, 2025, at 5:59 AM UTC.
  • Special Missions (related to Wonder Picks, opening packs, unlocking certain cards) will be live until May 28, 2025, at 5:59 AM UTC.

The rewards that you’ll get for taking part in these battles and missions will include a free promo card for Rayquaza EX alongside cosmetic rewards such as a playmat featuring some starter Pokemon and a Shaymin coin.

Apart from this, you can look forward to a new set of Solo Battles based on the Celestian Guardians expansion. From shop tickets to most importantly, pack hourglasses, a ton of new rewards will be up for grabs.

Spending resources on the new packs will also let you work towards unlocking the Emblems for them.
