Call of Duty Black Ops 6’s preload goes live later this month, offering players a chance to pre-install the game files ahead of its October 25, 2024 launch – and consequently play the game the moment it’s out without having to wait for their downloads to finish.
The preload goes live on October 21, 2024 and includes the entire package – constituting the Zombies mode, Campaign and multiplayer additions.
More on how to preload the game across all platforms below.
How to preload Call of Duty Black Ops 6 across all platforms

To preload Call of Duty Black Ops 6, you will have to have the Call of Duty HQ app preinstalled before proceeding with the following steps below:
- Make sure you install both Call of Duty and its Warzone add-on. These are available as separate downloads on the app, and should greatly speed up the entire process.
- Boot up the new user interface (which goes live on October 21, 2024) which serves as a drop-in replacement for the existing Call of Duty HQ app.
- Head to the Home tab to find the Black Ops 6 download ready for install as an automatic update – assuming you have already pre-ordered the game.
- Those who are yet to download the Call of Duty app can find the requisite preload for the game on their respective storefronts (PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 4/5).
Download sizes will vary depending on the dependencies missing from your current install of Call of Duty.
Additionally, the Warzone mode will not be automatically downloaded with Black Ops 6. Players will have the choice to download the mode separately from the user interface.
However, those on the PlayStation 4 and 5 platforms will have to download some shared content between the two modes. This additional, Black Ops 6 specific content can be uninstalled if so desired later on.
