Rune Slayer has a ton of things to do in-game, and one of the many additions this around are Pets. Players can bond with pets after taming them, and these are generally done by offering them a piece of their favorite food.

How to tame pets in Rune Slayer

Taming pets in Rune Slayer is relatively simple. Firstly, select the pet you wish to tame first, and head to its requisite spawn location. Next, head close to the animal, and press the Mouse 1 button to strike it.
Follow it up by immediately offering it its favorite food. Do not kill it, and only offer the listed favorite foods, otherwise it simply will not respond. If satisfied, the animal should have a heart icon on top of it, which should grow in size – indicating that it is being tamed.
However, pets may not take too kindly to being tamed at times, and can simply cancel out the process and attack you instead.
How to mount pets and get stronger beasts
Pets can be mounted once you reach Level 20 – after you meet up with Jimmy the Stable Master. Speak with this particular NPC, and complete his quests to earn the Saddle. With the Saddle in tow, use it to ride any pet you like.
There is also a way to tame and get stronger beasts. However, this perk seems to be limited to Archers at present, and requires the Beast Tamer subclass for the same. Assuming you meet the criteria, you will be able to tame more exotic pets this way.
