As you make your way through Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl you will be able to come across a lot of factions. Each faction has its own leader, base, and a set of principles that they work around.
From mercenaries to cultists, there are a variety of characters that you will meet during exploration, and they help add a bit of flavor to the otherwise grim post-apocalyptic setting.

| Duty | Bar Agroprom | General Voronin | The role of the Duty is to protect mankind from all threats. They are the paramilitary group of Stalkers who aim towards destroying the Zone. |
| Ecologists | Lake Yantar Yanov | Prof. Sakharov Prof. Hermann | Ecologists are all about discovering new technologies for the betterment of mankind. They work directly under the Ukrainian government and therefore are not a direct threat to you. |
| Freedom | Dark Valley Rostok | Mikluha | These are free Stalkers who illegally work in the Zone. They aim to prevent the government from getting their hands on the region. |
| The Loners | Cordon Zaton Pripyat | Beard (Zaton) | Loners are neutral Stalkers who do not belong to any faction. They do not have an ideological purpose and are individualistic in nature. |

| Spark | Unknown | Scar | The faction is led by Scar who was the protagonist of Stalker: Clear Sky. You will be working closely with this faction. |
| SIRCAA | North Perimeter | Ukrainian Government | The research arm of the Ukrainian government has a bigger stand and budget than the Ecologists. |
