In Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, you’ll have the option to parry any incoming melee attacks, and execute the enemy irrespective of the class you’re playing as.
These two moves are very common in most action games, and getting to perform them in this game adds a new layer of combat.

How to parry attacks
To parry an attack, press L1 on PlayStation, LB on Xbox, or C on PC right before the attack hits you. You’ll notice that the enemy starts glowing in blue. That’s when you should hit the parry button.
If you parry a Gaunt then there’s a high chance that you’ll kill them instantly. Alternatively, if it’s a Terminid Warrior that you’ve parried, you’ll break their defense and make them susceptible to more attacks.
One thing that you should keep in mind is that you should parry a little before they begin the swing animation, otherwise you might end up mistiming it.
It’s also worth noting that you can parry basic attacks too, but that won’t make much of a difference, especially in case of Terminid Warriors. Also, if you see an enemy glow red while launching an attack, make sure to dodge the attack, because these cannot be parried.
How to execute enemies in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2
To execute an enemy, you’ll have to approach the one which is flashing red and then press R3 on PlayStation, the right Joystick on Xbox, or E on PC.
Before you can execute an enemy, you’ll have to wear them down considerably. To do so, you need to perform one or a combination of the following moves:
- Shoot an enemy or hit them with a melee weapon multiple times.
- Break their Synaptic connection.
- Weaken the enemy with a grenade or explosives.
- Parry an attack with a blue flash on a weakened enemy.
