There are currently seven main weapon types and a ranged secondary option (Bow) in Where Winds Meet. Each of these types comes with its own set of martial arts skills as well as individual stats, bonuses, and buffs that make them particularly useful for different play styles.
If you are a PvP fnatic or just want to grind out PvE content all day long, every weapon type in the game will be extremely useful in particular situations.
Hence, it can be hard to pick a primary armament in the RPG, while you naturally start to experiment with each of them to see which one finally clicks.
So if you are on the fence about which weapon to choose when starting your journey in Where Winds Meet, then the guide below will help you out.
All Weapon Types in Where Winds Meet
Here is a list of all the weapon types in Where Winds Meet, along with some of their pros and cons:
1) Swords

While being one of the most iconic weapon types in the game, the Sword is also very well balanced, and combat with it emphasizes timing and agility. You will be able to perform fast slashing combos with you, allowing you to have a bunch of offensive and defensive options up your sleeves, irrespective of the content you are tackling or the playsytle that you are going for.
It’s one of the strongest options in both PvE and PvP, and as a beginner, you cannot go wrong by picking this up.
The Sword also comes with two Martial Paths: the Nameless Sword and the Strategic Sword. The former focuses on Agility, high burst damage, and the ability to weave in and out of encounters while once again slashing forward and then backstabbing the enemy. It also has a temporary shield that improves survivability, making it a great pick for any content in the game.
The Strategic Sword, on the other hand, is much slower in comparison. You will need to be calculated with it as it focuses heavily on DoT effects like Bleed, which explode after a short period of time, dealing massive burst damage. It has a more defensive playstyle where you need to be patient with your set-up and then make the most of the devastating finishers.
Both these Martial Paths make the Sword an incredibly versatile option for those who are new to the game, and veterans who want to dominate the PvP servers.
Best weapon to pair with: Sword pairs best with the Spear, as it allows you to strike the perfect balance between offense, defense, and mobility. The Spear also provides that additional range if you are not too sure about going in with the sword.
Martial paths:
| Nameless Sword (Bellstrike – Splendo) | Strategic Sword (Bellstrike – Umbra) |
|---|---|
| Main: • Shadow Step • Fearless Lunge • Sword – Conversion Basic: • Sword – Light Attack Charged: • Homeless Charge | Main: • Third Track Recoil • Inner Track Slash • Sword – Conversion Basic: • Sword – Light Attack Charged: • Second Track Slash / Sword – Heavy Attack |
2) Dual Blades

Dual Blades are unparalleled in close-quarters combat. They are extremely fast and flashy, allowing you to deal an extreme amount of burst damage as you keep landing attacks in quick succession. They are the fastest attacking melee weapons in the game and perfect for those who are looking to go for a more aggressive playstyle that looks to constantly exert pressure on the enemy.
The Dual Blades have one Martial Path called the Infernal Twinblades, which allows you to focus on chaining combos at lightning speed. Every hit that you land on the enemy will allow you to fill up your Rage Bar, and once it’s full, you will enter Rage Mode with your entire screen glowing red.
Your attacks get even faster and more powerful in Rage Mode, allowing you to melt through enemy health bars as long as you can keep chaining strikes.
This is what makes Dual Blades one of the most fun weapon types in Where Winds Meet. It has a high-risk, high-reward playstyle that focuses on keeping up the momentum and forcing your enemy to react to you instead of allowing them to go on the offensive.
However, Dual Blades is not something that we will recommend for newer players. They have a steep learning curve and can feel very underwhelming in the early game. You will need to build them correctly and completely master their movesets to be able to make the most of them.
Best weapon to pair with: The Dual Blade pairs best with the Rope Dart, as it will let you keep the pressure on the enemy from afar while weaving in up close and performing a barrage of attacks when you see the opportunity.
Martial paths:
| Infernal Twinblades (Bamboocut – Wind) |
|---|
| Main: • Calamity’s Greed • Addled Mind • Dual Blades – Dual-Weapon Skill Basic: • Dual Blades – Light Attack / Heaven’s Wrath Charged: • Flamelash |
3) Spear

While being one of the heavier weapon types, Spears are pretty quick in their attack animations and come with a fair bit of reach, which can do a devastating amount of damage if you are precise. The weapon is also quite practical when it comes to clearing content, and it’s visually very satisfying to land combo chains with it.
The Spear also excels at both offense and defense with its range allowing you to control the space infront and punishing enemies if they come in range.
The weapon type also comes with three Martial paths: Heavenquaker Spear, Nameless Spear, and Stormbreaker Spear.
Nameless Spear focuses more on playing around stuns and immobilizing your enemies. This lets you have a lot of DPS uptime as you keep punishing locked enemies with a barrage of follow-up attacks.
Heavenquaker Spear is a DPS powerhouse in PvE content. It is more AoE focused and comes with a variety of wide sweeping attacks and multi-hit combos that increase in damage with how much longer the chain lasts.
Finally, the Stormbreaker spear is a more defensive option. It applies debuffs to the enemies and reduces all incoming damage. This is the perfect weapon for those who want to be the frontline for their team and tank damage as a bruiser. Moreover, this Martial Path can also taunt enemies in PvE, making them ideal for some of the hardest PvE content in Where Winds Meet.
Best weapons to pair with: The Spear pairs best with either the Sword or the Mo Blades The Sword pairing will make your character a very well-balanced dualist, and with the Glaive, you will likely become an unkillable frontline for your team.
Martial paths:
| Heavenquaker Spear (Bellstrike – Umbra) | Nameless Spear (Bellstrike – Splendor) | Stormbreaker Spear (Stonesplit – Might) |
|---|---|---|
| Main: • Sweep All • Sober Sorrow • Spear – Conversion Basic: • Spear – Light Attack Charged: • Drifting Thrust / Spear – Heavy Attack | Main: • Legion Breaker • Qiankun’s Lock • Spear – Conversion Basic: • Spear – Light Attack Charged: • Storm Dance / Spear – Heavy Attack | Main: • Thunder Shock • Storm Roar • Spear – Conversion Basic: • Spear – Light Attack Charged: • Fury Spear / Spear – Heavy Attack |
4) Rope Darts

The Rope Darts’ strength lies in how creative and versatile it can help you be when approaching combat. It’s a part Whip and a part Spear that allows you to use it effectively in both close and mid-range. Its Martial path is the Mortal Rope Dart that allows you to focus on agility while constantly pressing your enemies.
The weapon will also let you summon rats that attack enemies on hit and can apply DoT effects and debuffs on them. You will make enemies constantly bleed by using a hit-and-run strategy that lets you weave in and out of combat.
The Rope Dart has the power to help you close the game by either pulling you to the enemy or pulling the enemy to you. It has a very fast-paced playsytle, driven a fair bit by momentum and how well you can keep the pressure on.
However, the weapon is not something that is recommended for newer players. While it has a pretty flashy playstyle, it takes a very long time to master the weapon. You will need to know enemy patterns and match-ups properly while effectively building around the weapon to be able to make the most of it.
Best weapons to pair with: The Rope Dart goes best with the Dual Blades. The weapons complement each other’s high skill ceiling as well as the fast-paced, momentum-driven combat. The Rope Dart will debuff enemies and apply DoT effects while letting you be elusive and strike from unpredictable angles. The Dual Blades, on the other hand, will let you exploit enemy weakness when in melee range and deal massive burst damage.
Martial paths:
| Mortal Rope Dart (Bamboocut – Wind) |
|---|
| Main: • Rodent Rampage • Bladebound Thread • Rope Dart – Conversion Basic: • Rope Dart – Light Attack / Coiled Loong Charged: • Rodent’s Resilience |
5) Fans

The Fan is one of the more strategic weapon types in Where Winds Meet and boasts a support-oriented playstyle, making them the perfect backline in the party. It does not have the same damage numbers as a heavy weapon, and being a light weapon, it also does not have the same attack speed as that d ther the Rope Darts or Dual Blades.
However, in between strikes, you will be able to generate healing zones with it that allow you to sustain and tank through most content in the game. Fans are the ideal secondary weapon for a support playsytle.
It has two Martial Paths: the Inkwell Fan and the Panacea Fan. The Panacea Fan is oriented more towards supporting and healing yourself and nearby allies. It can even revive fallen teammates, making them a great fit for taking on harder PvP content in a party.
The Inkwell Fan is all about increasing your ranged DPS. It focuses on aerial combat as well as projectile control, chipping away at the enemy’s health bar from a distance. This Martial Path will even let you summon a wall of wind, which will block all incoming attacks. You can even use the weapon to fling enemies up and then juggle them mid-air, increasing the amount of DPS uptime that allies can have on it.
Fans are recommended for those players who want to have some support utility, CC, as well as damage, and be the most versatile character on the field.
Best weapons to pair with: The fans go with almost any weapon in the game. If you want a front-line tank-healer, then you can pair it with a Spear or Mo Blade. For more ranged DPS, you can go down the Inkwell Path and pick a Rope Dart.
Martial paths:
| Inkwell Fan (Skillbind – Jade) | Panacea Fan (Skillbind – Deluge) |
|---|---|
| Main: • Mountain Sky • Jadewind Shield • Fan – Conversion Basic: • Fan – Light Attack / Forsaken Fame Charged: • Fan – Heavy Attack / Moonlit Spring | Main: • Light Dust After Morning Rain / Resurrection • Mistbound Aid / Endless Cloud • Fan – Conversion Basic: • Fourfold Inquiry Charged: • Emerald Dewtouch |
6) Umbrella

The Umbrella is one of the more flashy weapon types in Where Winds Meet. While it might not have a high damage per hit like that of the Spear or Mo Blade, its versatility and CC tools are what make the weapon shine when used right.
The Umbrella has two Martial Paths: Soulshade Umbrella and Ninefold Umbrella. The Soulshade Version is focused more on support utility. This path will let you throw the Umbrella into the air, and where it hovers, it will create an AoE where it will passively heal all allies in it. But the coolest part about this move is that you can swap to your secondary weapon while this ability is active, letting you fight and support at the same time.
The Ninefold Umbrella, on the other hand, is all about maximizing the weapon’s offensive capabilities. It turns the Umbrelly into a sentient DPS machine that will automatically attack enemies on its own. You can also charge your attacks to deal heavy range damage, making it much easier to pin enemies down from a distance.
The Umbrella is very well balanced for both PvE and PvP, and you will be able to use it for a variety of playstyles.
Best weapons to pair with: The Umbrella pairs best with the Fan if you are looking to go for a full support build where you have an infinite amount of sustain under your belt. It also pairs very well with a Rope Dart if you are looking to excel at long to mid-range combat.
Martial paths:
| Ninefold Umbrella (Skillbind – Jade) | Soulshade Umbrella (Skillbind – Deluge) |
|---|---|
| Main: • Unfaded Flower • Spring Sorrow • Umbrella – Conversion Basic: • Umbrella – Light Attack / Spring Away Charged: • Apricot Heaven / Colorful Phoenix | Main: • Echoes of a Thousand Plants • Floating Grace • Umbrella – Conversion Basic: • Umbrella – Light Attack Charged: • Pale Petal / Umbrella Heavy Attack |
7) MO Blades

The MO Blades, also known as the Glaive, is a heavy weapon that comes with one of the highest damage numbers per hit. It has wide sweeping attacks along with massive stagger potential, which helps it mow its way through most of the content in the game.
The MO Blade’s Martial Path is called Thundercry Blade, which focuses on tanking hits while having good aerial control. You will be able to generate shields based on your max HP, and also have the ability to slam the weapon into the ground to pull enemies towards you to perform slow combos that hit like a truck.
You can lock down entire groups of enemies with the MO Blades, making it one of the best DPS tanks for PvE and large-scale PvP.
What makes it even more devastating in PvP is its ability to delay charge attacks to bait parries and faints. This lets you punish counterattacks, dealing a lot of damage to the enemy player in return.
Best weapons to pair with: The MO Blade is best paired with a Spear. It will let you be an invincible tank that has a lot of sustain, CC, and a ton of DPS.
Martial paths:
| Thundercry Blade (Stonesplit – Might) |
|---|
| Main: • Sunrush Gale • Predator’s Shield / Shifting Heaven • Mo Blade – Conversion Basic: • Mo Blade – Light Attack / Galecloud Cleave Charged: • Avalanche |
8) Bow

All players, regardless of their two primary melee weapon choices, will have access to a bow as a long-range alternative. The weapon plays a vital role in exploration, especially when it comes to solving some of the puzzles, where it can trigger distant switches. In combat, it’s not considered a main DPS weapon and is used mainly as a tactic to chip down enemies and get the opening damage on them.
Flaming arrows are particularly useful as they can inflict the burn status effect on enemies and whittle their health down.
Which Weapons should you pick in Where Winds Meet?
Picking your two primary weapons in Where Winds Meet will depend on two things: your playstyle and weapon synergy.
If you love a fast-paced, aggressive playstyle, then you will want to go for a Dual Blades and a Rope Dart combo. Dual Blades will not go well with a Sword, so here is where the weapon synergy part of the armaments comes in. You will need to pick weapons that complement each other and balance each other’s pros and cons.
Similarly, for a full support build, you will want a Fan and Umbrella, while a Spear and MO Blade combo will make you the tankiest player on the server.
So, irrespective of the playstyle that you are going for, just make sure to go for the ideal weapon synergy, and you will start to have a much easier time taking on the hardest content that the game has to offer.
